2 totally different issues. Yes, we're not good & gave away a huge lead & missed too many FTs but that doesn't excuse horrendous officiating where we had a chance to win. Nice try though.

Even if we missed 100 FTs (which is how it felt), the fact is we STILL put ourselves in position to tie or win the game, and the refs absolutely screwed us.
NOBODY's denying that we should make them. NOBODY is disagreeing that we win if we make them.
But you can't just pretend a body check and a trip at midcourt is a call that should result in a swallowed whistle. It's not like it was a hip check or jersey grab under the basket with everybody going for a rebound. It was out in the wide open area when even the home conference's commentators then AND after the game was over couldn't stop talking about how it was such a bad non-call that helped decide the game.
It completely changed the outcome of the game.

We had to play zone because for the 3rd straight game we've got everybody in the frontcourt in severe foul trouble.
that is ONE play...RU lost the game with a 16 point lead not the end game and there was no guarantee that RU was making any foul shot seeing how they went 5-14
Can't forget about how st johns got the lead in the first place. Grabbed rebound and the guy fell to the ground. Then after falling, he stood up. That's two travels in the span of 5 seconds which lead to a bail out bs foul. College basketball is hard to watch at times.
Yes it is one play, but it was at the end of the game. You can't just rob a team of their last possession.
Yes, it was one play (technically two in a single series). A series of plays in which we would have gone to the line with a chance to win. I'm not here to tell you we make the FTs, but you can't swallow your whistle. Yes, Rutgers shouldn't have allowed it to come down to one play, but guess what, it essentially did.
And because we don't get that call, we're stuck trying to draw up a miracle finish with 4 seconds left. And I'm just as upset at that play calling by Eddie on the final play of the game as well. No urgency in Sanders to move the ball up the court quickly. No idea what type of time was left on the clock when he started to try to move around everybody and find an open man.
Two different situations. We didn't blow the lead because of the refs. But ...
... we'd have a bigger lead if things were called down the middle (which I can let go, because that's basketball),
... and we'd be on the line with a chance to go up in the last half minute of the game (this I can't let go with how OBVIOUS the calls were).
Again, this wasn't a reach-in foul, or a call where the guy may or may not have gotten a piece of a guy on a shot.
This was a blatant hip check and trip in the middle of the floor (two different players, even, so multiple chances to get it right), with everybody watching trying to figure out how nothing got called.
This isn't being talked about enough ... The fact that we were in foul trouble. People would just rather declare that Jordan is a bad coach instead of constructively discussing why such decisions were made.

And a few of the calls on Diallo were very questionable. There were so many non-calls thru the entire game on Rutgers....but, hopefully, we get them at home.
That was the worst St. John's team I have seen in a long time. We had more talent then them. Losing that game in that fashion was a travesty.

Yes, I agree. Lebron James has not gone to college yet. When he signs his letter of intent to play for Rutgers, we will make the NCAA tournament.

For three games we heard that touch fouls or any impeding of the offense will be called a foul. But I guess at the end of a game you can bump a player from behing, causing him to lose the ball. Then trip a player both in the open court.
Yes we blew a big lead, we get it, but still we should have had the chance to take the lead if either of the two blatant fouls were called.
