They are playing to their heart instead of an even game. Wesson, yes many points but that shouldn’t make him invincible. Then you punish Gene twice for his emotion. Forget this

stop bitching...its 13-11 with more on OSU, refs are letting them play today.
Stop bitching?! Carter got his head almost knocked off and no call. Then the ******** call in Eugene for slap of backboard.

Agree that our ft shooting is horrible anyways.

Jesus I swear we could lose a game by 50 and some of you would whine about the officiating. I’ve seen one before call the entire game against us. Yeah, they should be calling to moving picks, but that’s not why were losing. Ohio State has just played a fantastic game today on both ends of the court. Plain and simple.

Smacking the backboard like that after he the play is a technical. Plain and simple. It’s an incredibly stupid rule, without question, and it wasn’t a technical for 70 years, but now it is.

He definitely got hit in the head...not even debatable

My post was saying bac is wrong.

I agree with you that Carter got whacked in the head. We got screwed by the refs in this game. The 3 point foul against Kiss, numerous moving screens by OSU, Carter getting whacked. The refs, especially Courtney Greene, absolutely screwed us.

Why are some people on this board incapable of acknowledging when refs miss calls? No one is saying that the refs determined the outcome but come on. What’s deemed a foul anymore is so completely arbitrary it’s hard to even keep up. The hook and hold on Carter was not flagrant, I’m sorry. And Bac, watch the replay of Carter literally getting his hair pulled and head smacked on the no call or Kiss getting leveled on the 3 at the half. I don’t mind when they let teams play but don’t equate foul differential in favor of RU with good officiating. They missed a ton of calls, simple as that.

Agreed

As much as I give the refs the business today....the officials, other than loose on screen calls, called a game where they were invisible and the call minute one woild be the same as in minute 39

I would sign up for this Every time

The hook and hold is by definition a flagrant foul. That's a bad rule not a bad call.

The Carter, Kiss, and Geo no-calls were bad, as was the phantom call on Doorson when Wesson randomly grabbed his head and recoiled with no contact.

Agreed. I meant after watching the replay 17x it was impossible to say who hooked who. Could have just as easily went against Wesson as he was riding Carter’s back. Should have been a simple foul.

Look at my posting history. I rarely complain about the refs. I used to officiate youth basketball.

But the refs, especially Courtney Green are their whistle on a number of obvious fouls against Rutgers. And OSU moving screens. Enough where it changed the game. OSU hit at least two 3s and a 2 pointer after an uncalled moving screen. Kiss’ 3 at the end of the first half. The Wesson call against Doorson. Just use your eyes.

Add that up. It changed the game.

thats not a ******** call, its the rule

and I dont think Carter actually got hit in the head
It's not a ******** call but it's a ******** rule. That and the hook and hold rule should be eliminated.
When a player doesn't have the other players arm pinned to their body it's not a hold.

Couldn’t disagree more. I have no problem calling out officiating when it actually does affect the game, but seriously, we weren’t winning that game today.

I cant comment of the refs and the calls because I listen via radio

But I can say the radio announcers confused A LOT
questioned a lot of calls
and
were pretty mystified.......................................a LOT LOL

Sometimes it’s hard to know how officiating impacts the trajectory of a game. What if Wesson gets called for a couple of those moving screens early on and has to sit? Does he still score 27? Maybe our perimeter D closes out better if OSU is more hesitant to pick up the foul when they run their motion. My beef is how wildly inconsistent it is from game to game.

Another BS call was the foul called on Myles underneath our own basket in the 2nd half.

He was halfway between basket and foul line, then tried to slide down low for position.

The Ohio State player grabbed his arm as Myles made his move down low to the point that he actually pulled him back towards the foul line.

When Myles broke free, he continued his movement down low, but was off balance and he kind of bumped into an Ohio State player as he tried to box out to receive an entry pass, and Myles got called for the foul.

I replayed it several times. Total BS.

Too many of these types of calls today.
It REALLY makes it difficult to draw even in a game like that.

Refs had a big effect and completely changed the game by swallowing their whistles early on. Geo was getting banged and knocked off course and all non calls where as these have been called at the Rac and helped us control game and momentum. Refs didn’t cause us to lose but made sure we had no shot to win today when they decided to swallow whistles especially in the first half.

One ref seemed a bit off.. kiss got fouled at half ending 3... Wesson was fouling a lot.. as he is known to do... For him to get out of the first half with no fouls... Just criminally bad officiating.

And really.. you cannot tell me that their star getting 2 fouls in the first half would not have changed things.. and he earned at least 2 fouls there.. uncalled.

But their 3s won them this game.

I rarely complain but that bald ref is terrible and ru got screwed on numerous obvious calls. Ohio State deserves to win and played better and ru has to own up to not getting it done but thinking the refs didn’t stink it up is sticking your head in the sand.

The bald ref is Courtney Green. We rarely get an even game from him. And sometimes it is blatant.

Wrong. The refs had an effect on the game. The game would have been a lot different if called evenly or even with a very slight home whistle edge.

Lots of blown calls that were against us. I call it like I see it.
