I don’t think Shows really refs against us. Pat Adams absolutely refs against us; lots of others do too. Shows just tends to make the game about him, which often makes it practically unwatchable.

Any time a ref has a known face and name he is a bad or corrupt ref.

The problem I have with the officiating often times is their inability or desire to call the game the way it should be called. Regardless of how the fouls pile up on one side or the other.

For example: Vandy hacks and claws at the ball every time the ball goes in the paint. That’s what they’re coached to do. Not anything wrong with that but you should suffer the consequences of doing it.

The game was well officiated through the first 25-30ish minutes of play. Got wonky in the second half but the first half with so few whistles on relatively clean play felt like a breath of fresh air.

I thought they called a better then average game for what we usually get. The call on Chandler would have been a no call for most home teams.

The way vandy plays defense they foul at least 30 times per possession. If officials would actually crack down on this style of defense then teams would adjust and play accordingly. Vandy should have been assessed a F2 for the hit on Garrison. That warranted an ejection. If the roles were reversed do you think Garrison would have got that break? The answer is no. The Chandler incident was an absolute travesty. Again if the roles are reversed the vandy player is getting marched to the line for a 4 point play. Funny thing is I saw Bama do the exact same thing twice against Tennessee and they got marched to the free throw line and praised how they can draw fouls like that. All of that to say I still think SEC officials are the absolute worst and at best they did a D+ job yesterday.
