The ref sprinted to directly to Gay after he crossed the goal line and looked like he just couldn’t wait to throw a flag. He wasn’t even doing anything that bad and then his teammates come and celebrate with him. And to me it looked like he took the helmet off as he was out of bounds?? Jeez both calls on him were ticky tacky. No way should he had been disqualified today. Or am I missing something ?

He and the Lineman got caught shooting the bird at each other on TV and in front of the fans. That is unacceptable. It happened to be his 2nd unsportsmanlike of the game. Auto disq.

I ain't mad at him. Willie Gay was so damn fired up to play today after sitting the first 3 games he just couldn't contain his emotions. He was unbelievable in just two quarters. Looked totally destroyed by the news he had to leave the field and couldn't play the 2nd half. Dude is a wrecking ball on defense. It couldn't be more obvious we were significantly better on D with him on the field.

Post a clip or pic of Willie shooting the bird and I'll believe you.

Willie Gay needs to stop 17ing up and play ball. He can make a lot of money if he’ll get his self-control adjusted.

Where were you sitting? He was running on the M Club side of the 50 after making a big stop in the backfield celebrating. The o lineman for UK took exception and flipped him off. Gay returned the favor and actually pointed it towards the UK fans as he circled towards our sidelines.

Mental midget.
His fault he sat 3 games.
His fault he didn’t keep his emotions in check.

Willie Gay needs to have a long talk with the man in the mirror.

He basically spiked the ball in the endzone. The ref ran up to warn him to dial it back, as they usually will, but it was too late.

A player can only take their helmet off when inside the team area during play even if out of bounds. Timeouts and injuries are the exceptions.

It wasn't too late, none of that drew the penalty. He went out of bounds and took his helmet off before he got to our sideline. He either thought it was okay since he was off the field or just didn't care about the rules. His track record would point to the latter. Too bad because we are a different defense with him out there. The drop off from him to Leo is dramatic.

We are a better defense with Willie Gay on the field. His physical play helps the team but his immaturity and disregard for proper decorum on the field hurt the team. It doesn’t matter if he is playing his first game after sitting for 3 weeks or if it’s his first game action in a year he has got to dial it down. That’s no excuse for acting like a punk. His showboating, running off at the mouth, flipping people off, removing his helmet-none of that **** has a place on the football field. The refs simply aren’t going to tolerate it, and he has done so much of it that the officials keep a closer eye on him than other players. They expect Willie to do something dumb based upon his history. He gets “targeted” by the refs just waiting on him to do something dumb. Willie is a good enough player that he doesn’t need to call attention to himself with his antics. His play is (normally) good enough to speak for itself. He needs to just STFU and play football, I I were his coaches I would make damn sure that he knew that. When your actions start hurting the team it’s time to be smart and stop it. I don’t believe for a minute that he’s just caught up in the emotion of the moment-too much of his stuff looks rehearsed, which is usually the case with all these “ look at me” type players...

Willie Gays, your antics were embarrassing. Celebrate, spike the ball, dance, taunt, take your helmet off, walk the sidelines with a demonic look, flipping players off, getting personal foul calls. Dial it back man. You already embarrassed yourself and the University, plus you hurt the team, by cheating on your school work. Going full on gangster in the four games you get to play isn’t endearing you to the fans. You are a great player. Act like you’ve been there and clean that **** up. Your coach shouldn’t allow that type behavior and I’m sure your mama doesn’t approve.

Post game interview, Gay was mentioned and Moorhead kind of laughed it off and said that he is just an emotional guy. That's not cool

Unacceptable. Moorehead is supposed to shape those young men into good citizens, not gangster wannabes. He owes that to the team, the mamas and the kids.

If true, this is exactly what's wrong with Joe. We are a very undisciplined team. In effort, in emotions, in conditioning.

My first post right after the td referenced him taking off his helmet. Willie should have kept his hat on, and the ref should have thrown the flag. It really is that simple.

Starkville is a tiny town to have so much "gangsta". Willie and Kobe both have the penchant for ticking off referees and drawing penalty flags
