I was wondering who #12 was in a few of those snippets. Then he changed jerseys and #...confused again! He looked fine, nice release and that drive to the basket will be a nice addition even though the D was not stellar.

I became a believer in Reeves when I watched an extended highlight video of his team hanging around to the very end with a then-Top Ten ranked Wisconsin. The impressive thing was how easily he penetrated their decently ranked defense to score at the rim or in the paint.

When I saw that I thought “no way there are 25 transfers better than this guy.” That was when he wasn’t showing up on lists of top transfers.

He's quick enough and big enough to get where he wants to be and he CAN score, just what we need. Guy his size always give us fits, he can return the favor.

Exactly what I was thinking! How many times have the Cats been shredded by a guy his size with his type of game? I love that he is a pure scorer, not just a shooter. And I’d have to think he can defend pretty well due to said size and speed.

Sorry about that, hit wrong reply. I meant that for reggis1. I actually agree with you. I watched the same highlight and Wisconsin couldn't shut him down. I thought one of the weaknesses of last years team was the lack of speed of Grady. IMO Reeves is a up grade in that capacity, w have yo wait and see about shooting. The way he moves and handles the ball is a very pleasant surprise.

I'm very interested to see how Reeves is used. With his size and ability, he is the type of player that we see on opposing teams quite often and they sometimes end up taking games over when they get hot.
Guys like him are tough to defend.
I really like this pick up by Cal and the staff.

How will Reeves be used is very interesting .I can see him at the 2 with Wheeler in the game and maybe the 3 with Wallace. Will he get 20+ minutes a game? In the Collins, Toppin, Livingston mix is he the odd man out? In the Wallace, Fredrick. Wheeler mix is he again the odd man out? A 20 point scorer at a mid major will be tough to keep off the floor. He was the man they had to stop now he is the man the defense loses track of some of the time..

I think he is our starting 3, with Livingston backing him up. So 24mpg

Forgotten man preseason. Everyone wobbling over Wallace while this guy is ready to step up and help. Three level scorer. Experienced. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him lead us in scoring a few times.
Reeves is one of the key players, but so is Wallace. It isn't a case of either/or. I like Reeves. And if you have seen Wallace play, you will know what the excitement is about. Wallace is a big time player, every bit as good as Ty Ty and probably better.

After seeing Reeves, I don't see how he doesn't start. Nobody on the team can score at all three levels like that guy. We know Oscar, Toppin and Wheeler will be three for sure and with Reeves that leaves one position between Wallace and Fredrick.
Four spots are pretty much set, IMHO. Wheeler, Wallace, Toppin, and Tshiebwe start. The fifth starting spot is up for grabs. Livingston, Fredrick, and Reeves are fighting for that other starter spot.

I’m penciling Livingston in right now. His athleticism is elite. That’s important to Cal.

Just a guess at 9 man rotation to start... won't be like this in Bahamas and could obviously change with Thiero/UKO in mix for minutes and CJ getting back up to speed.

I could eventually see those 5mpg from Ware going away and they go to UKO. Maybe a couple minutes shaved off Wheeler/Wallace/Reeves and given to CJ for more even distribution and to save legs.

Feel like there will be an emphasis on getting everyone at 25mpg as max. Oscar may be the only outlier or if UKO/Ware show out he is saved with legs too and goes to 25mpg.

As much as I like Thiero's future he is probably the odd man out due to depth at guard spot/slasher spot, barring any injuries 🤞.

PG- Wheeler- 28, Wallace- 12
SG- Wallace- 16, CJ- 15, Reeves-9
SF/3G- Reeves- 16, Livingston- 18, Toppin- 6
S4- Toppin- 19, Collins- 16, Livingston- 5
C- Oscar- 30, Collins- 5, Ware- 5

Total Minutes per game
Oscar- 30
Wheeler/Wallace- 28
Toppin/Reeves- 25
Livingston- 23
Collins- 21
CJ- 15
Ware- 5

Agree but think Reeves will get the nod to start but CL probably plays more minutes at 3 overall.

Good problem to have it seems either way!

No way Livingston doesn’t start. At least at the first of the year..
While I think he could, I think you can't say "no way he doesn't". Although some were that convinced last year about Collins. Not only did he not start, he didn't play much. And Collins was rated about as high as Livingston.

I think he's the guy that will end up keeping CJ Fredrick off the floor.
