The ncaa passed a rule in Dec that you can only transfer once with immediate eligibility going forward from that date . No waivers , etc . There’s only a few exceptions for hazing, sexual assault, etc …
Reeves and Fredrick’s options are limited

At this point I don’t get why you’d run off guys like Oscar and reeves except if you’ve promised the incoming freshman all the minutes, he says he doesn’t promise anything (lie). Running off Oscar for Bradshaw is like saying

I don't think transferring is the decision, I think it's about him being 22 and maybe ready to start a pro career somewhere (knowing he will probably never be an NBA player, more going to Europe, etc).

But in the end, I think NIL and returning to UK will win out.

Definitely want him back. He won’t have as much pressure on him to score next year because we’ll have better options in the half court. It seems absurd to even acknowledge the possibility of not wanting Oscar back, but I would like to see Ugonna take a bigger role because I think we can get 2 really good years out of him, and Bradshaw has to play. But obviously would love to have Oscar back when it’s all said and done

Antonio deserves better from what he’ll get from fans moving forward. He needs to be the 6th man. Wheeler let him and us down. He should’ve gotten the hook but we were so dependent on him that we had to encourage him to keep firing. Him coming back locks up our guards for next year. Dillingham, Wagner, Reeves, Reed, and Adou. Fans will want more depth but who will come when Rob/DJ/Reeves will play 75+ MPG combined?

I am so excited for Bradshaw I can hardly see straight.

Finally- he will be the first big like that since guys like AD, WCS, etc.

Just long, tall, athletic FREAKS who can do a little bit of everything.

But hey, if Oscar wants to come back, bring it on!

You run off Oscar because he doesn't play defense and isn't a consistent enough scoring threat. He's not a strong shooter, he is undersized and offers no shot blocking or shot altering.

I love that Oscar is a generational rebounder and that he played at UK, but his style just doesn't work today and he seems to aggravate his teammates at times.

Cal requires an active shot-blocker who can switch and guard multiple positions. Oscar can't do that. Oscar also routinely gets beat at the rim on defense by bigger players because of the size deficiency.

There is no way in hell he can play the 4 spot.

It's time for Oscar to move on to other things and hopefully Ugonna and Brandshaw are much better defenders.

Also the more I think about it, I’m expecting big things from Bradshaw but we’ve seen by now that it’s not uncommon for freshman to disappoint. With Oscar we have a known entity that’s a beast

Come on back Reeves. Hated it for him that he was ice cold today. You see the relief when he hit one that really didn't matter? He's got a nice looking shot just didn't have it today. He needs to work on his defense though.

He goes 3-15 and a couple of those halfway/rimmed out threes go in, this conversation would’ve never happened and we wouldn’t even notice he went 3 for 15. You have to have Reeves back, streaky as hell or not.

But we know Cal will push him out. Kansas will get Grady Dick to come back and Cal won’t let Reeves return.

Am I wrong for my first thought being “if he comes back it will only lead to either him or someone else pouting over playing time”?

Thanks Cal

If Cal pushes him out that will be bad.

If Cal was smart he would have Reeves, Oscar, Livingtson come back and platoon. I don't give a ****, it worked for his 2014-2015 team.
They're all grown-*** men. They won't be back if they don't want to be back.

One extra year of NiL would be a nice foundation to start a career on.

Cal's problem is that he HASN'T pushed out some guys that he probably should have (Wheeler, Collins, Ware, etc.).

Don't agree that Cal will push Reeves out, no chance.

Would love to have him back with pieces for next year. Today was brutal for him though- it just was. One of the worst performances I can remember by a player in a tourney game at UK. Happened to Delk though and he bounced back.
I remember when Grevey had that kind of day against UCLA in the finals. Couldn’t hit for crap, and he was the best pure shooter we’ve ever, and I mean EVER, had.

Yeah that’s another thing. Still hoping Daimion can take a big step forward. He’s shown signs and I think his dad dying really affected his growth early in the year.
I think Collins and Ware will transfer and find their level where they’ll start , or play big minutes . They are both easily replaced via portal or high school if you needed to

He needs Justin Edwards opposite of him, to draw defenses, and vice versa. The problem for Reeves was that he was our only real scoring threat. We need someone else for him.

But I love the prospect of him being back. Maybe more than anyone else? If I had to rank it (of realistic players returning):

1. Oscar.
2. Reeves.
3. Maybe Collins or Toppin?
4. Thiero

I'd like guys like CJ and Livingston and Wheeler to potentially come back, but I don't think we will miss them either. I might move Livingston up.

If Cal tries to pigeon hole Bradshaw on the low block and make him a back to the basket player he will ruin Bradshaw just like Skal. That ain’t his game and y’all will trash him like you do Skal.

Pretty clear that the coaching staff and Oscar weren’t on the same page this year. Whether or not that would translate into him being unwelcome to return is debatable.

Lot of big egos at play, and the results haven’t been anything to write home about. If you’re Cal, do you deal with that for another year? Especially if it might be your LAST year?

I think Reeves is a different story. That team next year can use a shooter. We already know that.

Don’t quite know what to make of Reeves performance today. Wouldn’t want to depend on him as heavily as we did this year. But I would personally like him on the roster. There’s something I like about him, even though today was an all-time trainwreck.

100%.

In March, you need a few guys that you can give the ball to and say, "go get us a bucket".

This year, we only had 1 (Reeves).

Next year, we (IMO) seem to have 3 dudes coming in that all have that in them (Wagner, Dilly & Edwards), Reeves coming back could make 4, and go get another 1 or 2 for insurance purposes.

Guys like Livingston, Bradshaw, etc. play off of those guys and become finishers, and you suddenly have a team that is ACTUALLY built for March, unlike these last 3 teams.
