Money is not everything when you are already making good money(Reed). Hell, two guys turned down the coaching job here and would of made double what Baylor and UCONN was paying. Money didn't matter to them either. So there is an argument that Reed could return. I just want what is best for him personally, but would love it if he came back.

I think Big Z Reed, Burkes, and maybe get the Hart kid back, is a good start to a roster.

Add Thiero , Travis and maybe Wagner to that and perhaps O and we should have a good team and if any of Cal’ s recruit have any brains will stay .

I think Reed was our best player and one of the best players in college basketball.

That said, I don't think he's going to be a lotto pick.

• He's 6'1 (Jeff was listed as 6'3 and Jeff's two inches taller)
• He's not that fast compared to pro guards

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think his best move is to come back, dominate one more year, and then go pro.

We've seen time and time again that mental readiness doesn't dissuade our guys from the draft. NBA makes sure of that with contracts and years to get the mentals and emotionals right.

Reeds game isn't built on fleeting athleticism.. it's literally IQ, shooting, and playmaking.. things he's going to have regardless if he goes this year or next. He doesn't HAVE to cash in on his potential like he's a John Wall type.

Doesn't mean he will come back. But just clarifying that this isn't a typical Calipari 1AD recruit.

Hurley just turned down 100 million, there’s more to life than money. You don’t think Reed would come back for legacy reasons, or because it’s where he wants to be?

You don’t think Reed could possibly value this place as more than a pit stop in his NBA Career ?

I like this post. I see this kid as mature for his age. He knows his family is financially comfortable, and his NIL will only get better if he stays.
More importantly, Reed knows what the demands of the NBA are.
The travel, being away from home & family, and he is mature enough to know that he may not be physically ready for the grind of that league next year. I don't think it's a done deal that he leaves but if he does, I wish him all the best.
