Tucker thinks UK may offer soon.
He’s better than Hawkins worst case. The fact he’s competing against older 17U players shows how good he is.Kid brings it every time out, even with coaches from his dream school there.
Gotta be wired like that to thrive here. He's still so young, you hate to project too much, but he's showing what you need to show at this stage to be really good.
I like that the staff sent a message. Still think it's too early to offer anyone except the elite of the elite, but if Reed wants on board now, go ahead and take him. Worst case he's Dom Hawkins.

Judging by the reports on here of how he keeps getting better with each post, I'm afraid he will skip college and go straight to the NBA.And also questioning whether he can play major minutes for UK. This guy is an NBA player for SURE.
For what it's worth, my thoughts on Reed Sheppard...I would like to see him in the Blue and White. I think he's good enough and will probably be even better in two years. Now, if Coach Cal has changed from some of his old ways AND he doesn't show favoritism like in the past, AND Reed gets playing time based on his ability, then I think it would be good for everyone. Good for Reed, good for UK, good for the State and the fans. Some fans have left because of various reasons, but I think Reed is in a unique position to bring some of them back and give them (and all of us!) a reason to cheer for this team. For those few that have left, the fact that he is a KY kid and he's a legacy could have an impact on them. Whether it's right or wrong, having a Kentucky kid playing for UK is something to cheer about. Personally, I want him here for that reason, but also because he is a good (possibly great in the future) player. I haven't seen him play, but I have had family and friends who have seen him, say he's the real deal.
So after all that (lol), yes I would like him here.
Yeah I don’t think anyone can say he won’t get a fair shake now, we often don’t send the entire staff to see a kid unless they really want them. Now maybe people will get off Cal's back. He is gonna watch the kid play and see for himself if he is UK material.
If he is great, he will play. Willis has even said he didn’t try and practice as hard as he should have. Cal puts a ton on NBA stock we all know that but he also gives minutes to those who help the team and show out in practice.I think he will get an offer. But it will come down to how patient is he willing to be to be a Cat. For example put him on this years team, unless he is Wagner, he ain’t playing. Will he be willing to get Willis type minutes his 4 years? The only thing that got Hawkins more was his defense. But like Willis, what will get Sheppard on the court is offense.
It's pretty much a crap shoot now. He still has two years to grow and develop and we don't know what our team in two years will look like. Yeah, where he is right now, and where this team we have now is, he probably wouldn't get much playing time. But two years is a long way away.I think he will get an offer. I can relate.
Cal doesn’t offer anyone he doesn’t want too. Plenty of Kentucky kids people thought he should offer and he didn’t.Cal will offer the kid because of the pressure on him.

I loved Dom Hawkins, he gave us some great minutes.Kid brings it every time out, even with coaches from his dream school there.

He didn't recognize them with masks on !!How could Reed not have noticed them?![]()
Yep. A lot of ppl wanted him to offer Fredrick out of HS, as a recent example.Cal doesn’t offer anyone he doesn’t want too. Plenty of Kentucky kids people thought he should offer and he didn’t.
.... and, "We're off"Well he got offered
Unlimited range, spot up or off the dribble. He’s about as skilled offensively as you could possibly hope for in a HS rising JR. Those are my favorite types of players. He shoots effortlessly from deep too! Love it.
Hell yeah! He played meaningful minutes in the FF on our 2014 run as a freshman. Didn’t get much run in 2015. Can’t remember about 2016. He was excellent in 2017, in particular late in the season and in the NCAA Tournament.I loved Dom Hawkins, he gave us some great minutes.
Smartass the kid can playJudging by the reports on here of how he keeps getting better with each post, I'm afraid he will skip college and go straight to the NBA.

Normally true, but this isn't normal. At worst Cal will offer him with an understanding he will go elsewhere. Unless Reed declines in his ability, somehow, Cal will offer him, he has no choice.Cal doesn’t offer anyone he doesn’t want too. Plenty of Kentucky kids people thought he should offer and he didn’t.
These kind of posts drive me nuts. He, as a sophomore, is significantly better than Hawkins or Willis. He's a smart kid with good athletic ability, very good shooting and a high basketball IQ. He would play more than you're giving him credit for.I think he will get an offer. But it will come down to how patient is he willing to be to be a Cat. Should offer him now. Scratch that. Offer him yesterday.
Lol he offered him in July before his junior year. What hesitation are you talking about? Its ridiculous to not offer months ago and make him feel as if he’s a top priority.
This is what UK is all about. Why in the world a UK fan would actually encourage a wait game for a legacy kid like this makes no sense.
If this was 2010 Cal would have already offered. I don’t know what the problem is with him these days but it’s time to be Kentucky. I feel like fans have sacrificed so much under his leadership. We really have changed as a fan base over the last decade to accommodate his NBA centered ways and this should be something for the legacy of Kentucky and for the fans if nothing else.
I don’t understand the hesitation and never will. Jeff and his family deserve the red carpet on this one and it’s time Cal gave it.
