Cals been passing to much on "sketchy" recruits, bottom line. Can't say I blame him but to see Ayton, Bagley, duval, and bamba(not nearly as bad as the other 3) all get cleared is a pretty big let down as "eligibility" issues play into our recruiting 10 fold

If not for two guys no one else could get eligible, we'd be laughing our *** off that the mighty Coach K took a team "as talented as 15 Kentucky" and lost to South Carolina on the opening weekend then struck out on every major target except Trent and Carter with a weak bench to compliment them.

But because the rules don't apply to Coach K and some of you believe every "Duke leads" ******** that Capel floats to his mouthpieces, Duke is working on their 11th straight title with about nine more lined up.

Sack the F up. I promise you John Calipari ain't scared.
Thank you. Tired of all these folks sucking their thumbs and wetting their pants. Good grief get a grip or get a hobby.

The cold hard truth is Duke has more to sell because of academic prestige, coach K, and the fact they've been the best program in the modern era on the court and unfortunately it's not really debatable.

Cal had the one and done trump card until coach K went all in on it. There is an argument that Cals been better at one and done. I think we split guys now because there's only one ball and because our track record with one and done is a little better.

I hate one and done as a sales pitch though. I think the guys Duke gets are more likely to stay because they're using one and done as kind of an added thing and not their main pitch. The overall strength of their program and university is the main thing they sell I'm sure.

It is what it is. I have confidence Cal will figure out how to put us back on top.
Academic prestige?

Over 20 years ago, guys like Ricky Price and William Avery attended Duke. Their academic prestige has been a joke for a long time.

Coach K is now and always has been a phony sellout.

If you set aside the element of surprise about the timing of this announcement, it actually makes Duke seem not confident about Barrett and desperate to keep him away from UK.

I wasn't talking about admission standards for athletes. Which I agree is laughable.

Reddish hasn't been in play for a long-time. People on this board are freaking out because Duke seems to dictating the narrative, not because Reddish is going to Duke instead of UK. Honestly, this works out in our favor if we get Barrett. The second Barrett announces for us, whatever happens tonight is irrelevant.

Well let's take a last 10 year approach on championships and see how you feel

So Duke has 2, we have 1. There really killing us.

I'd bet the farm if Cal were at UK 38 seasons he might win 5 championships.

Coack K has coached more Mcdonalds All-americans than any coach in NCAA history. If Cal won 5 in 38 seasons folks would say he underachieved. But coach K is a basketball god for it.

I was just pointing out a 2 yr sample size is to small a size. And Duke has 2 championships that "should be ours". The only one that should be ours is 2015 but I digress

As Yogi once said, "It ain't over till it's over." How many of the "experts" had Kevin Knox coming to UK?

Kevin Knox at least took an official visit. I'm, sadly, of the shared opinion that this recruitment is dead.

I thought the coach poster said Duke was losing recruits because of Bolden and Giles problems last year. I guess not?

Dukes done a slightly better job of getting the absolute top of the top talent lately. Just has. You can call that whining or being pessimistic. Won't change that it's true.

And we're still getting more than enough elite talent to compete every single year. Not like Duke is just trouncing us.

Coach Cal is amazing. He is the clear cut number two guy in college basketball behind K. If we can just get K to retire we will have what we want recruiting for the most part. It sucks to admit you're inferior to a program at a certain time (not overall. We are the best overall by far). I guess that's just how spoiled you get at U.K. We have it made. Duke just has it made a little more right now, all because of K though. U.K. Is more than just a coach, thankfully.
This is crazy. Honestly, who would trade our roster for Duke's straight up? We have a more talented team with a better group of Freshmen (I do include Diallo here, he has yet to play a game for us). Duke can have Reddish, I'd rather have Williamson. Think of it this way, UK and Duke are getting half or more of the top 10 players each year. I believe that this will continue over the next 2-3 years until Coach K retires. I anticipate some important games against Duke in the near future. We can worry about those asshats when the time comes

We are in serious contention for the #1 and #2 players in 2018. I say that Williamson and Barrett will both be here

Our recruiting, while elite and behind only Duke, is not what it was while Antigua was here.

Capel is obviously doing well for Duke. Just wish we still had Antigua on the trail for us battling it out with him. Barbee is worthless and Justus just isn't a household name.

And many, including myself, will feel better about our ability to still get the top 5 guys if we do.

Neither have popped for UK yet, however.

Furthermore and IMHO, Zion Williamson is the most dynamic, can't wait to see him in Kentucky Blue, player of all players from the 2017 and 2018 classes.

I had to mute him because of the game threads. He basically slit his wrists every time we gave up a basket.

He was the same way on that other site's game threads. Exactly. I'm surprised he's still kicking.

I stay out if the game threads because of attitudes like that. There's not a lot of logic or game theory in those threads just hand wringing. Just like I stayed out if the thread earlier this week that was started "did you give up hope vs Louisville when we went down 18-5 in the sweet 16"....or whatever. That's not a quote just as close as I could remember. If you give up at 18-5, do yourself a favor and never watch sports again. You don't have the balls to watch. You give up at 18-5 your life must suck and you got no chance to improve. Such snowflakes

this is it right here. I've been saying forever that while Cal is good recruiter it was always Orlando and Kenny who actually laid the ground work for Cal. If we should be crucifying Cal for anything it's his blatant disregard and disrespect of having his buddy(Barbee) on the bench so they can travel together, and eat pasta together and whatever the hell else they like to do that isn't getting it done like other assistants could be. I mean the fact that he didnt bring O back this year is criminal.
