The Mrs and myself are going to be in Boston next month when the Sox are at home. I've been looking at tickets on Vivid seats and there are plenty available. It will probably be my only opportunity to see a game at Fenway so I'm going to spring for some nice seats. Think they will get cheaper closer to time or will they possibly sell out? Not real sure how sales of MLB tickets go compared to college. Thanks in advance.

I always got mine on stubhub no problem. If you really want to splurge go ahead and sit on the green monster. I did one year with my kids($300/seat) but you will not regret it.

I'd go ahead and get them from Vivid or whoever. Sure, you could buy from a scalper outside and possibly save 30 bucks, but that's always a hassle especially when you're unfamiliar with seating charts and prices for those seats.

was in Boston two summers ago and went through StubHub...our seats were great and reasonably priced; lock it in now cause those Red Sox fans are crazy about their team

I really hadn't considered this, I can sit directly behind home plate in the lower boxes for less than $200 each.

I've sat behind the plate, outfield bleachers and the monster. There is nothing like sitting up there.

Geez. In '08 I sat near the top of old Yankee Stadium for $100 (yeah, it was its last year as a stadium).

Just back from Boston. Make sure to go by Bleacher Bar at Fenway. It is under the outfield bleachers and has an opening to look out at the field. Think the opening may be closed during games, but a cool place for lunch and a cold beer before the game.

I'd recommend watching prices for some upcoming games on stubhub or whatever you want to use. If you've got enough time, compare prices a week or more out vs. a few days before the game vs. day of the game. That's a good way to get a feel for how prices will fluctuate and what areas have seats available.

If you're only buying 2 tickets that will make it much easier to get a good deal if you want to wait around. If you're having to buy a bunch together, they become a lot more scarce.

Spring for the good ones. We went on Spring Break years ago and sat behind home plate. Kids wanted on top of the Green Monster but nothing was available. Game time it started to rain and they delayed opening pitch about 2 hours. Game started and went 13 innings and ended at 2:30 AM in the morning in a Red Sox loss. Folks we sat around were nice and were surprised we were Red SOx fans being from Georgia. ALso stayed in the hotel the supposed Black Sox scandal was hatched a block or 2 away. We enjoyed Boston and used Subway to get around town if needed. Downtown area is really compact.

Went a few years back and sat about 20' up the line from the Pesky pole. We were looking right at the RFer. You basically had to look down the isle to see the plate.

It was fantastic.

Green Monster seats are $380 for the game we want to go to, seats behind home or the dugouts are $180 ish. Mitch is supposed to be back by then but who knows if he will play that day. Kinda hoped to say hello.

Went to a game there once in July 2001. Sat in right field right behind the bullpen. One odd thing that I remember is that the pitchers had tomato plants growing in the bullpen. I don't remember how much tickets were, but not very much. I think maybe $10-$15.

Ace Tickets. They are the Red Sox's preferred ticket exchange. Also, The Commonwealth Hotel is a great place to stay.

Depends on who they are playing and what day you go. I went to a yankees game on a weekend and it was about $150/seat even with first base but under the overhang in the shade(wife thought Mitch Moreland would wave to her). Went for A's on a Tuesday and bought the day before for $50 behind homeplate. I used vivid seats for both.

Who are they playing? I know that's a lot of money, but it's a once in a lifetime deal.
