Man, going to 247sports and looking at our classes...I really like who we got last year, and I really like this year's class. Looking further back though, the 2017 class was just a disaster. Of the top 5 recruits, only Jaeveon McQuitty is still here. Of the 18 signees, only 11 are still on the roster, and some of them haven't done anything of note.

Moving forward, as Frost builds this program back up to being a contender, brick by brick, landing quality recruits that either are already freaks, or can be developed, is going to be key. Getting them to stick around and have the right attitude is something that I think Frost encourages, as he seems to demand a lot from his players personally (which I like). Witness the case of Maurice Washington, who is by all accounts an extremely physically gifted player, but who just cannot get himself right mentally. He's gone. And we desperately needed him, but nope. Later bro.

Does anyone know who some other key targets are for the year, and how we are faring with them? I've been dying for some good news, and I think (hopefully) winning at Maryland will set us up to go in and beat Iowa and actually make it to a bowl game. If we do that, I will cry tears of joy. If not, meh, well, 1 more win than last year is technically an improvement.

Anyway, recruiting news/thoughts/rumors: GO!

For whatever reason that has been the issue probably since TO left for sure since Bos back half. Guys who came in with big hopes never panned out. We can't seem to consistently develop talent.

When you recruit kids with great natural talent but don't love the game is what you get with those 2017 type of classes. When you recruit a team that loves the game, loves the work that is needed, that is when you can build a winner.

The more talented they are and have the right mindset and work ethic, that is gold.

One of the reason why the culture change is different for every coach in the country when taking over a program is due to this very issue - every roster is different.

This staff will probably hire Myles Garrett to coach player safety

I get what he’s saying but unless I see proof that he has donated his skeleton to the Nebraska science department after he graduates then I would take this with a huge grain of salt

After things seemed to be fizzling at a depressing pace- it seems we’ve got a little recruiting momentum heading into the final stretch.
I don’t have time now to list all names/ratings and nothing is a lock until they sign, but we seem to be in on enough “solid enough or better” talent to still finish the class pretty strong which would be amazing. I just don’t wanna hold my breath too long in case things don’t pan out as best case scenario for us.
