on Earth! First off, who knows who out recruited who, how do we know with any degree of certainity which schools truly offered a kid a ride....Secondly who knows if any of these kids will pan out, if you sign 15 , odds are 5 will never see the field, 5 might play some, 5 might be good players who make significant contribution...but on signing day, we never know which of the three catagories they will fit under. Just a total crap shoot!

I hate to agree iwth you, especially since that's not what this board is for. :)

I totally agree with that statement though ... to a degree anyway. When talking recruiting I immediately go back to Gwaltney and Slaton. Gwaltney was a 5*, his signing day was broadcast on ESPN, but it was Slaton that became the star and made it to the NFL.

I think it's safe to say that a class full of 5*s is going to pan out better than a class of 2*s 99.99% of the time, but that doesn't mean that a particular 2* won't end up being better than a particular 5*.

The thing is, Doc may get a 4 star or two of the ones that aren't eligible. It's what they live on.

When the P5 schools decides to grant teams may take in a limited amount of props, that's likely to happen soon, that will kill off the Moou's of the college sports world. Back to being a Div AA type program.

^^^^^^ Exactly the angle I would try if my team was getting trounced by the nearest instate competitor.

Re: OMG, the sky is fallin! Hahahahahahahhaha*

You don't need to recruit well when you play a schedule of teams mostly ranked 100+.
