Only losers jerk off to top guys that you “almost got”

Sorry, all the close calls (supposedly) over the years with guys going elsewhere hasn’t won us ****. I’d argue that many of these recruits keep us in there because dumbass Husker fans online tweet them, retweet, follow, etc and they do it for the “followers”

That’s why I dropped the premium recruiting subscription… because who gives a ****? Only guys who sign with us matter. And I can find out on signing day for free.

Its fine. Was treated with more respect on the pay board, but one thing he and I agree on is that its not worth paying for the service anymore. Recruiting has changed 500% since I signed up with Sean in 2004.
We’ve been here a long time, and we pretty much know who we will sign. And, we have seen it all…
From the bozos who will “shock the world” only to choose the school that everyone predicted, to the begging for followers of these days… it is laughable. But, I still follow the team and hope we start winning. Very few guys will go to Nebraska unless we start being badass again.

And to you point Bob, I guess what the gist of my sentiment is… sure it is nice to be considered but finishing anything but first is worthless.

For this cycle, we have to land Jones to close this class.

"What is your most memorable recruiting battle?"

Turner Gill. Nothing was bigger than beating OU in any way back then. It was a recruiting loss that obviously ate at Switzer for years, and since he was a coach who never hesitated at getting his little digs in whenever possible ("Sooner Magic") it was a very satisfying recruiting win.

You are right. Coffee is for closers, and we do need to close on a big fish. Been a season ticket holder since 1999. Watched the entire downfall. Was in Boulder for 62-36. We went from getting 1-2 5* per class, to losing out to South Dakota State for kids. Hurts to lose out on Sanders, but I'll take that over fighting for 2* with FCS schools. I feel like Sanders is a long game, like Raiola, and I thing there are other big fish who we can get a shot with by winning.
