In the interest of transparency, I do not, at least not within the harmless context of football. I should note, though, that there is a less traffic on OwlScoop, and Rutgers really doesn't come up much.

My wife is a Rutgers alum and employee, so I have some vested interest in Rutgers, the university. If something unfair and off-base is said, I correct the record, just as I do here.

Looks like it comes up a decent amount

especially your comment on "not being able to stand either program"

...ain't surprised. When TU had a free board every 4th/ 5th thread was about Rutgers- not quite on cuse's level but not nearly the way SHUSource tried to downplay it.

I'm not shocked that Temple alums hate RU. I'd hate RU too if my degree was glorified toilet paper in comparison. An RU degree is 10x more valuable than a Cosby U degree.

Eh, don't need to look down our noses at anyone regardless of conference affiliations. I respect what TU has done for themselves even if some of their fans clearly think that they're now some superpower because they won C-USA version 3.67 and lost to a 10th place team in the same bowl game they went to for finishing 3rd in the MAC.

Funny thing is after RU I actually like seeing them do well but a few of their fans get uppity...they should just be happy their doing alright..

Like I've said before I can respect what they've done for themselves and also think PaPreps writes a solid blog for them too, but once they start getting all over self-important and trying to knock us every other hour it gets beyond old. I actually get a kick out of the handful of their fans that keep trying to convince themselves that 'being in the AAC> being in the B1G/ any P5 league'. It reminds me of 10 years ago when UCF fans would make fun of USF fans because UCF had won C-USA and USF fans would just go, "...it's Conference USA; we don't care. We'd rather finish 4th in the Big East than win Conference USA".

O/U = 3

"4 wins would be a success for Ash....." "3 is better than 2....." "I'll take it......"

I don't see any enjoyment setting mediocrity as a long term goal. You can have your B1G

...oh, you're still here? I also must have forgotten how TU was an instant winner when Golden took over and it didn't take him 4 years to have a winning record playing in the MAC.

I don't see any enjoyment playing in games no one really cares about, winning a league title that gets you a generic bowl game where you get to lose to a 10th-place team, or in a league where you can win 10 games, play in a bowl game the Tuesday before Christmas and still finish unranked because no one really respects it on a high enough level.

It sounds an awful like you do, Joe. You seem to be paying quite a bit of attention, I didn't even remember the game was played on a Tuesday...Happy 4th

I didn't either- just picked a random day (the expression "Tuesday before Christmas" actually started during the last days of the BE when Marinatto talked about 'strengthening bowl ties' but we were ending up with time slots like that). I'm actually on the 'Rutgers Football' message board because that's what I really care about in terms of CFB though I love the sport overall (though yes, the thread title is a bit funny/ironic though that's on the OP. Kid also seems like a solid pickup.)

Happy 4th to you as well.

What does it say that this thread has almost twice the replies than the thread about a new RU commit?
Just wait, you ain't seen nothing yet, if Russo starts and leads Temple to another 10 win season and we struggle to two or three wins, oh boy, this board will explode.

It takes a special kind of cretin to troll an opposing teams board on a holiday. Me thinks it's time our Cosby U poster earns a permanent vacation from the board.

I am hoping for all the best for Russo at Temple, and if he does accomplish that, well, we'll chock it up to the beginning of the Ash era and the continuing joys of Drew Mehringer.

DM did a good job selling the offense to Lewis, I will take that trade.
