Who was it? Very tall.

I saw Jake Dadika walking with him outside before the game.

Just saw this post. I think his first name is Osborne, and he plays for New Mexico Institute (or something like that). I spoke with him for a minute, and he was a nice kid.

Yes, it's a JUCO he plays for and he is just in his first year. So if he were to transfer to RU or any other 4 year school after his freshman year, would he be eligible to play immediately or would he have to sit out a year?

His highlight film is impressive but he is really skinny. It's hard for such tall men to gain much muscle.

RU has had a number of Africans in the program over the years and, as an institution, RU's diversity I think makes the university more attractive as a destination than most other schools. Anyone know if we are recruiting him heavily or if he was just taking in a game while visiting the metropolitan area over the semester break?

I see we offered in October.

That's a start. Let's hope he likes what he saw during his visit. How was the weather in NJ during his visit? Hopefully not cold enough to scare him away.

The New Mexico Military Institute is in the infamous Roswell, NM, which is pretty far south but at about 3500 feet above sea level, high enough that it could get pretty cold during the winter.

Add 50 or 60 lbs to this kid and you have something. Has a solid stroke from outside, good feet and blocks shots. I like him.

Agree, not at once but over time maybe. He will get pushed around in the B1G if he does not add weight.

He'd be immediately eligible with three years to play. LJ Figueroa at St. John's did a year at Odessa College and then was a sophomore at SJU last season.

A 4" taller Issa! But seriously, that highlight tape shows the typical blocked shots and dunks, but at 7'1" he runs the floor remarkably well and his stroke and overall coordination is pretty amazing. If you could put even 30 lbs of muscle on him you would really have something. It would be very interesting to see how he fares through a B1G season.
