That's who I really want but the article seemed to imply Cal wasn't looking at grad transfers.
I think Cal said that he would take grad transfers if their coach had been fired. Thus Blackmon would fall in that bracket.

LOL there was some off the wall things in that . Knox and Duke ain't what most people think . At least thats what people say . Who knows if it is the truth. I know Daniels is pretty bad at his job and who ever trusts a UL fan? Also I haven't read anywhere Smith was MSU's to lose. Sure hasn't been painted that way . Again who knows though . I sorta expect Smith to be the guard we get with Bamba . I just hope we Cam from Pitt as well if possible.

Blackmon is not coming here..I would think he would want to start if he transfers. He wouldn't start over Diallo.I hope we get Johnson from Pitt..12ppg in the ACC..40+% from 3 and is a 6'8 G/SF sounds like Justin Jackson.I think this would be the top team in the country

Cal's whole problem with the grad transfer is that his dear friend Bruiser Flint lost his best player to grad transfer at a small major school had a terrible year and was fired. He hates the idea of raiding the lower tier schools for players. I think taking a player from an ACC school is an entirely different proposition. ESPECIALLY when the player was signed by a different coaching staff and wants out after not getting along with the current coaching staff.

Good grief, did you see the block? I've never seen anyone block and hold the ball with one hand like that. Whistle would be instantly called but man!

yeah that was absolutely insane.

Insane in so many levels. First is the fact that you blocked a future NBA all-star like it was nothing.

And his hand size is enormous, he'll be strong rebounder.

And especially when that coaching staff is headed by Kevin freaking Stallings!

“(Bamba) and Quade have a connection,” said Daniels, who kept a close eye on the pair at practices in Chicago. “You could see it at McDonald’s: Quade would drive the lane and find Mo for alley-oops.”

I think this is the biggest factor. Your friend on the circuit, a guy who will feed you cheese burgers all game long, is going to a school you are ALREADY high on..

I just cant see him going elsewhere under those circumstances..

So....is there a consensus here that Knox won't be a CAT?

I worry about a sub 80 recruit getting any meaningful minutes.Yes, we need a shooter, but we also need to play him.

It took Mulder like 1.5 years to see any real minutes.

yeah, i don't think these players will play. They have to bring more than just shooting. We'll see what kind of game they have. Maybe they were underrated.

Bamba is the bigger need and a complete game changing player. He is the one I want for UK. Knox is a stud but not as big a need for UK as a legit rim protector. JV/PJ are more than able to handle the stretch 4 role and the 3 along with Diallo.

I want a guy like Jermarl Baker. A 4-star who isn't expecting to start, but would be a good replacement if Diallo needs a breather, or is in foul trouble. Someone who can shoot, and will likely be around for a while. I'd prefer that to a grad transfer, although with that you get experience.

Bamba, Baker, and Cam Johnson to close out the class and we're a top 5 Title contender. Bamba is a game changer on D. Baker and Johnson provide 2 great wing shooters.

Someone was suggesting Texas had a shot with Bab ma because of their PG, Coleman. Cant belive this coleman chap has a better relationship with Mo than Green.

I will be on cloud nine if we wrap up class with bamba, knox and baker, but I do think it will be bamba, Johnson and baker. That is going to be a team cal has as a 1 seed and one of the top contenders for the title.

Yeah but this is one area that I completely disagree with him about. It's really hypocritical for a coach to say these things but I guess its perfectly ok for a coach to leave for another school. I know that happens far less than transfers but still, it does happen often enough. If the coaches can leave, the players should be able to also. They've already given that school and coach 3 years. If scholarships are only good for 1 year, that's another reason why I have no issue at all with the grad transfer rule.

The pitt transfer even if we get him won't be able to play next yr, so I don't know why everyone keeps saying that he will make a big impact next yr?
