Short of him winning a national title at state, it’s going to be real hard to forget the **** show of this season.

He looks, acts and coaches like he is clueless. He had rather lose than come up with plays that will actually work.

I’m well aware of our current situation. I also expect leach to have some success here. I just don’t like the hire. Didn’t from the start. Honestly, my problem is more with Cohen and leach is just collateral damage. But I does worry me that we are not seeing any improvement, even incremental improvement week to week.

Missing Mullen
I miss Mullen big time.

It’s reall an empty feeling knowing those glory years are now gone. The bowl streak is over, and we probably will never have another one like it.

A Dan Mullen youtube highlight video with the background song being “memory” from cats would be appropriate.

Cohen has no clue how bad we are he is too busy running the streets today celebrating a Biden Harris victory.

Leech's offense is totally counter to MSU football culture. When we hired him it was a guaranteed total destruction of the program. It had to be a deliberate decision. (If it wasn't then Cohen is just plain stupid.) The hope had to be that Leach could rebuild it. I did not want to hire him for that very reason. I didn't think it would work against defenses with across the board speed like you see in the SEC. even if it will I didn't want to totally destroy what we had. Mullen showed us the way. We had barely over 200 yards offense tonight, against VANDY. They had more in the second half than we did all game.

I miss Mullen.... but I hope he never wins a championship at Florida. Screw him.

I hope he does well. I like the guy but my hope is selfish MSU stuff. It would go a long way toward dispelling the widely perceived FACT that going to MSU to coach is career suicide. He is the first coach since the 50s to move on on his on from MSU.

Leech has a lot of "uh's"..listening to locker room show...he apparently had never been grilled like SEC grilling.

Hate to tell y'all. Leach took the MSU job to get a shorter flight to Key West.

WSU fans will tell ya. He was checked out last year. Gone 6 months a year. He is done. Just collecting a check.

We are atrocious offensively right now. No other way around it. Our OL sucks, poor QB play, and our receivers look clueless.

That being said, this is not an “SEC defenses will shut this down” issue, IMO. Vandy is not more talented than anyone in the Pac12, and they shut us down. Right now this is an “us” problem with execution (which falls back on preparation and coaching too)- not something that is being exposed by SEC talent.

Did you forget the **** show of the last two seasons? If so, you’ll have no problem forgetting this one, I promise.

I’m not a real big Moorhead fan either. I think I clarified my position in a follow up post in this thread. I really don’t have any ill will against Leach. It was a poor post on my part. My problem is with Cohen. While I do believe leach will have some success here (by success I mean winning 7-9 games per year and maybe getting 10 or 11 once or twice), it’s going to be hard to feel the ends justified the means after we go through another year of this. It’s hard to imagine next year will be much better. We may have a damn near new roster.

And how many players does Vandy have out? Hint, it's more than us.

Nothing the last two seasons was this bad. It took a plus 5 turnover margin for us to beat a Vandy team that many thought was the worst team in SEC history.

Good lord, I long for the days of mediocrity the last 2 seasons.

Yep. 8-4 and 6-6 are pipe drams (sic, but given the term....appropriate! LOL!) now, and for several years. Cohen needs to go TONIGHT. If that doesn't happen there is no need for any other moves.

If you believe that is where we will be, what in God’s name are you upset about right now. The ends will have undoubtedly justified the means. We weren’t doing that with Morehead and really weren’t doing that with Mullen either.

When has our historic, “Mississippi State” brand of offense worked in the SEC. we average 3.5 sec wins a year.

We would be in line to win 6 games this year with a full slate of non conference games. What we are trying to do is implement a system that can score with abandon. It make work it may not, but acting like this is any different from last year is just ridiculous. We are having the same results with very little offensive talent and no players recruiting for the scheme we are running.

If not for the academic suspensions, Joe would have survived another year. Would he have ever turned into Mullen 2.0? Who knows?

Where does the blame for the cheating scandal lay? If you think Joe is mostly blameless. then he probably should've had 1 more season.

But I have to admit, we certainly didn't look well-coached too many times last year. As for where do we go from here? Ulysses Everett McGill probably nailed it.

Because we were already consistently winning 7-9 games a year. In case you have not noticed, we’ve been pretty good the last decade or so. There was no need to blow up the program and start all over. That is why the means don’t justify the ends. We are tearing the program down to likely end up right where we were under Mullen, if we are lucky. We should have hired a similar minded coach and tried to keep that train rolling.

Had we hired someone like leach after croom, you’d get no argument out of me. The program was dead and needed to be completely reset. But it was not needed now and you knew that is what you were getting with leach. Plus I can’t imagine the back side of this will be any better. Has Texas tech been any good since leach left?

Where do we go after Leach if he only lasts 2-4 years? We'd have to dismantle the program again because there isn't another coach out there who runs the air raid offense (most are to smart for that) and a new coach won't have the players he'd need to get back to a normal 60/40 run pass offense. This could get even uglier in the years to come. One last thing you better get use to Ole Ms taking over and whipping our *** going forward.

Nah we'll be fine. We could hire Arnett right now and just play punch you in the mouth football and win 7 games a year. Every year. We will always produce RBs in this state and we will always produce big strong athletes. We just need to say 17 it and physically beat the **** outta everyone every week. Let's get really good at doing that. Make every team afraid to play us because they know they are gonna be sore for a month afterwards. Let's be the biggest, meanest, hard hitting team in the entire country. We can always recruit 25 of those guys every year. I mean let's face it guys. We are never winning a natty under the current environment so let's just beat the **** outta everyone instead.
