We were NOT going to run the table these last 8 games. But the ARK game certainly means that we now have even less margin for error.
We MUST win another Q1 game. Our remaining chances are UT in Rupp, at Arkansas, or maybe Auburn in Rupp (but probably not after their loss at TAMU, and if we beat them too).
So that means we MUST beat either UT or Ark. And it might take both if we were to lose to UGA or Auburn or Miss St or Florida or Vandy.

Searching for any type of positive spin. Back to my "we were NOT going to win those last 8 games" statement, so while Q1 wins are important, if we were going to lose one, we may have picked the right one to lose. Had we beaten ARK at home, that would have probably bumped them out of the top 30 making it not a Q1 game/win. The game vs them in Fayetteville, and the game in Rupp vs UT are certain Q1 games.

Sorry man - but the only thing I am positive about is I am positive we are not going to make it. We are literally limping now with 7 games to go - at LEAST 2 which are likely loses.

And TBH - I'd rather not limp into the NCAA first weekend and get trashed on national TV yet again.

My hope is another NCAA tourney miss will bring action.

Yeah, I hate it but I just don't see this team winning either the UT game or At Arkansas. Our best chance of beating AR was last night. At Fayetteville, with their home crowd, I don't see it. And Tennessee is coming to Rupp with revenge in mind. That's gonna be a tough one to win, also. Truth be told, I wouldn't be shocked with road losses at Georgia or Miss St, and I'm expecting a loss at Florida. Our back is against the wall, and it looks like it's gonna be NIT for this group, I'm afraid. I'll be cheering for them the whole way, of course, but I gotta say this season is a major disappointment.

Here's the thing tho we are basically sitting here talking about what we need to do to make an NCAA tournament.

Obviously it's better than going to the NIT. But there's nothing this team has done all season long to make me think we can win maybe more than say 1 game in the tournament.

I'll admit to not caring whether we make the NCAAT or not .. I mean why ? to get punked again ? Or we still wishing for the Easter Bunny to be real .. well if the draw is good a 9 seed has advanced to the blah blah blah

I think we eek out a win vs UT. For whatever reason, we match up well vs them. Arky will probably run us out the gym again, and I agree we drop one or two more on the road.

I really came into this season with high hopes. I’ve tried to keep some faith that maybe this team could sneak into the S16 and salvage something. But last night was a kick in my nuts. I was legit mad at how poorly this team came out and looked in the second half. I’ve been upset at losses, but it had been awhile since I felt pissed watching a game. Last night was a big game, Rupp was buzzing, and this team came out in the second looking like they took a nap at half.

I like our chances vs Ark better than UT, although both are low (probably 30-35%). Our guys showed they can win a tough road game. But I think UT will be pissed off that we won in Knoxville, and may win big in Rupp.

Question: What did you see during last night's game that indicated to you that we have the sack to make it into the NCAAT this year?
Wallace scoring 24 big uns, Wheeler not playing and I mean that in a nice way.
We gotta get healthy guys.
How many games have we actually played with all of our top 8 available?
Its a shame really but there is still time to make a run.

I am not even confident we win at Georgia on Sat or at Miss State next week. In fact I am fairly certain we will drop at least one of those games.

If UK ends up in the NIT, which I think is very likely, that should be the end of the Cal era. He has zero excuses for this debacle.

I do not care one iota about next year's class either. Cal failing to make the tourney again should be it. Period.

The thing is, even if they did make the tourney by chance, this season has still been a huge failure. Cal should be gone.

Forget this whole hope and prayer thing. This program has become the sh** standard instead of the gold standard.

I don’t see this team making the tournament this year unless the win the SEC Tournament and they will not win it with what they have put on the floor this year. Another “Wait till Next Year” while we watch Indiana in the tournament.

Would you all be shocked if we made the tourney and got sent home again in the 1st round again?
At this point I would not be.

I feel so drained and deflated under Cals watch these days.

Don’t think team will accept an NIT bid. Too many players will check out mentally. Cason will be thinking about not getting hurt and many others will be lining up to transfer. I think this roster will be gutted by summer as few will return for more of CCC’s nonsense. I don’t think any current player is a lock to return. If that happens, next season will be COW’s last!

It is a real question whether we belong in the NCAAT or not. Maybe the NIT is a better fit. Makes no difference if it is Cal or the team or a combination of both
It has been a disappointing season. I thought we would be better than we have been. We are about the same team that opened the season.

I believe it is time for Cal to move into the next phase of his career whatever that may be. Arkansas was just a better team last night ,they hit shots late in the shot clock just like KU did, they shot the lights out in the second half. I doubt there is a team in the country that could have matched what they did in the second half

All that being said we are who and where we are. Maybe Collins should have played more, maybe Thiero should have played to try and match their length, maybe it would have made no difference.

What happens now, do we have enough mental toughness to bounce back(we did after Ala) but Ku and Ark may take a toll. we line up and play Saturday and try to get a win.

Well at least it won't be an upset if that happens. We'll likely be the underdog by seeding.

This pains me to say this, but we are now what Indiana was, one big suck.
We are not a top program at this moment; just not. We are not feared by anyone. We get punked in our own house. Our fan base is like the great USA, divided as hell.

All we are going to hear from April on is how great a class we have coming in.
How many times have we fell for that BS? Great classes get you hype, but it hasn't gotten UK much the last several years.
There isn't a lot of fun in UK Basketball right now.

That truly pretty much sums it up as to how I feel at this point. I don't see anything but an NIT trip for us this year. Really sad how far we have fallen.

Agree with most of what’s been said. I’ve been a hopium person thinking we might see some semblance of the team we thought we had after the Bahamas.

Last night took the helium out of the balloon for me. I actually quit watching the last 5 minutes, which if memory serves me, is the first time since the Lsu comeback game…thankfully, I did have that on record. I used to tape every game on vcr for my brother who lived in England at the time.

Cal obviously deserves most of the blame here but I just don’t think this team has ever come together as a group. Some of that is on the players.

It will be interesting to see if the have any fight left in them to salvage something.

Confidence level on winning one of those is definitely very low .
It’s hard to be confident when they lost every big game they have played in, and the one they won it feels like Tennessee lost it more than Kentucky won it

I see four more losses before the SEC tourney, auburn, tenn, florida, ark. We'll need to win the sec tourney and I really can't see that happening.
