Is it just me, or does it feel like it might as well be 31-0?

I freaking hate the big ten. Good ol boys club where we'll never be welcome.

Definitely not getting any benefit of the doubt. Boys better come out ready to fight in the second half. We’re not of this, but it’s close

You mean like harbaugh having to call
Timeout on an obvious first down?

That's really the point, isn't it? The officials have been making so many bad calls, that things are only made right through the replay officials. The on-field officials are missing things left and right.

You mean like the textbook hold penalty going uncalled repeatedly, followed by the most BS pass interference penalty in history. Domann needs an official apology from the entire crew.

Like the refs giving Michigan a TD when the QBs knee was down. If SF didn't fight it, it would never have been reviewed.

The one where a blatant hold wasn’t called and an illegal formation flag was picked up, even though it was an illegal formation. Wow, that must be rough.

Officiating has been bad, but we would be losing this game either way. D has played well, special teams hasn’t been abhorrent, but the offensive game plan and execution might be the worst we have ever seen, outside of our first play from scrimmage. That’s where we are losing this game, on the offensive side of the ball.

It's a tough game, sure. But meat chicken might just have the field goal or two if not for the refs. We could very well have scored as well. They need to get out of the way and let these guys play football except blatant things like they're pi on us that one throw to Martin.

Yes, but it should be 6-0. Also the phantom clip and illegal formation calls that killed a drive in UM territory didn’t help. We need to find some chunk plays in the second half,

Allen’s touchdown was on a play where we should have been called for an illegal formation. I am not sure what we were trying to do. So many things wrong with that formation

I don't care who the team is, Illegal Formation has got to be the dumbest penalties in football, or top two/three.

Jonh Wiercinski was an official in that game. He attended Western Michigan and his facebook profile has a picture of Michigan football. How the hell does any conference allow a person with any affiliation to any team officiate that teams game? Absolutely irresponsible. It happens for every team like when Clete Blakeman would officiate Husker games. It should never happen.

Two wide receivers, Allen, Martinez and the RB were behind the line of scrimmage. You can only have four. We lucked out they didn’t call that one. Plus we had no WR on the right side so our tackle wasn’t covered.
Here is the illegal formation on our first td that wasn’t called

The refs let you know if you are on or off the line, which means that part was already okay.

It doesn't matter, the ref said it was okay.

The REF said it, the REF SAID IT WAS OKAY! Which part of that is hard to understand.
Then the ref made a mistake. Isn’t that what the thread about. Even if one of them is on the line the tackle is still uncovered at the top. We had a bad formation on both sides

I guess it it your topic, not mine.

If the ref tells me it is okay then it is okay.

You obviously don’t understand or have played football past pee wee.
The formation is the most important presnap read in football. Why do you think teams have so many formations & motions?
It helps read the coverages, assignments & blitz packages of the defense & lining up illegally gives the offense an unfair advantage.
But I guess you play video games where you can just line up in the same formation over & over again. LOL

I'm not even sure domann was moving when the receiver plowed right into him. you could almost make the case for offensive interference. Domann wasn't allowed a chance at the ball either.

I know why it's in place, but it's just a lame penalty. If you think having one of the receivers on the left side with one ( #5 in the above video) placed a yard back in the "backfield" is a huge advantage, you're an idiot. The defense usually has the best athletes on the field, having a "fifth" player lined up anywhere in the backfield is not going to be detrimental to any defense, they can figure that out pretty easily, dumb ***.

So in 20 years of coaching football the only reason we ever make note of where a WR is lined up in comparison to the LOS is if we are jamming or not.

That is it.

Prepping for motion is annoying, especially any motion that crosses the Center.

But there is no lining up illegally because the refs tell your WR's if they are good to go or not.

The ref only tells you if you are are not on the line of scrimmage. He doesn’t tell you if the formation is ok.
