This is a weird read.

What am I thinking... Thinking Beard was acting in self-defense. Not sure why he'd leave the house had he been the aggressor. The woman was capable of leaving.. but stayed and was interviewed by the cops.

Something totally embarrassing went down between them and it led to violence.. one way or the other. That's why we haven't heard what caused this from either party. They both look awful and they know it.

Wondering where teh woman is on the crazy/hot scale and if beard just made the wrong call.

When it comes to domestic troubles that require police attention, many times what the victim states is recanted.
The original statement might have been the truth, but later the victim doesn't want the aggressor
to get in trouble and does their best to mske sure that doesn't happen by placing the blame on themself.
Other times the so called victim really wasn't abused, but when the police arrive make up a story of abuse because they're angry.
Later when everything cools down the accuser has a change of heart and tells the truth.

When it comes to domestic abuse situations, sometimes the truth becomes fiction and fiction the truth or visa versa because whats said and done in anger can change when all parties cool down and talk over he consequences of what was said about the incident.
The police usually are placed in a bad position for just about any way they handle domestic abuse calls.
