wow - crazy score.

Rapp is 11-1. Essex is still without a win at 0-7 (but has had some close ones and a late start).

The NND is going to be really hard to predict this season it appears - No one is way above the others it seems - any team may win the Neck this year.

Should be fun.

My question is are the usual top teams not as good as normal or are the others that much better this season?

I will take a stab at your question. CB is really better than last year and Rapp might be better but I don't think the other 4 teams are better than last year. Northumberland might be but they have only been practicing for the past month, or so it seems

Essex despite their record has played mostly higher level schools. They still have one of the best players in the district in Tamaje Jones and of course, KJ Dameron down low. All of those tough losses early should make them battle tested and a tough out for any team.

Last season, I felt confident posting that I thought a NND team had an excellent chance of winning states (beating Riverheads and whoever came from the West's best).

This year (while I certainly hope the Neck can do it) I am not feeling quite as confident at the moment. It may happen but I am not sure I would call anyone from the Neck a top favorite to win it all.

Thoughts? Is the Neck in the underdog role this season as far as states are concerned?
