Hardest to easiest imo. Purdue has a really underrated QB and has the accuracy and arm strength to beat our zone. Also really like their RB1. I’m feeling a shootout in that one.

I have a feeling Illinois is going to improve and Bielema will always have his team prepped especially for Iowa. I don’t think Iowa is a good matchup for Wisconsin.

1. @NW
2. Nebraska
3. Purdue
4. @ Illinois
5. @minnesota
6. Wisconsin

The short-hand:
If we win it's because they are terrible.
If we lose it's because ...
a) refs
b) cheating
c) all their players will be drafted in the first round
d) a vast conspiracy that involves ALFA bank and people who celebrate the 4th of July.
e) billionaire donor(s)
f) their state's population and/or geographic location
7) all of the above

I said in another thread that Iowa could win or lose every game left on the schedule less Purdue. Purdue surprised me in beating Minny so I've changed my tune a bit. Iowa can win all the games left, they could lose all of them as well.

One good thing is that there is that all of those teams are nowhere near as talented as fOSU.

Wisconsin is pretty good, wouldn’t be surprised if they beat UCLA this weekend. I think their qb ran for 140 last week.

This is probably how'd I'd rank the games as well, but honestly I could probably rank Purdue and Wisky at home and Illinois and Minnesota on the road in any order after NW, and Nebbie. They're all very average teams that Iowa will be favored against. NW might be a slight favorite at home and Debbie a slight dog on the road.

Nebbie and NW are definitely 1-2

3. We'll find out how good Wisconsin is over the next 2 weeks.

4. Not sure what happened to Minnesota's rush defense last week. They rank a respectable 50th. That said if Purdue can run on 'em , we can.

5. Illinois was overrated, but that one's on the road.

6. Purdue's run D is #93 in the country. We'll run over them.

Illinois's excellent qb broke his hand and might still be out when hawks play them. He's a game- changer.

All if these games will be a challenge without an RB1

Interesting to look at the upcoming schedules for these teams
NW: MSU, Rutgers, Oregon (should be top 15 by the time we meet them)
Nebraska: Oregon, Washington, Illinois, Rutgers, Ohio State (LMFAO), going to depend on Calandrea staying healthy
Purdue: Washington, PSU, Maryland (ok that could be a cake walk for them)
Illinois: houser injured, who cares they are going to be *** from here on out
Minnesota: only worried based on it being away
Wisky: Yikes, UCLA, USC, then Iowa (we are about to find out a ton more about that program).

Strength of team but also in terms of matchup. Mainly what do you view as the most difficult to win for Iowa?

I didn’t know the nature of the injury. The backup qb looked decent but he’s young, would much rather face him than Houser. If Houser’s out I’d put them at 6.

at this juncture every opponent on rest of the schedule is very formidable. no gimmes at all
also unwise to discount mn just because pu depantsed them. iowa has lost horribly on the road before and bounced back against solid teams (e.g 2016 psu beating followed by win against top-5 mi). afterall mn has beaten wa on the road and also defeated mi far more comfortably than we did. i don't expect this to be an easy game

Bielema's teams in years 3+ never improve. He's fat and lazy.

Illinois qb is out for a while with an injury (broken wrist). Defense has been awful against the run and most know but for those who don’t big Bert brought in new DC. Fired after 4 games. New DC switch to 3-3-5 because of lack of DL depth and talent. They’ve been awful against the run and in general. Minus game being at champagne could be weakest team left in my opinion.

Don't forget 'Fire KF' that has been the call in 20 of his 27 years here. No game will be easy, not with this D giving up so many points now. Good news, Illini, who put up 450 yds vs OhioSt, lost their qb.

I expect Nebbie to do their annual second half of the season belly flop. They will lose three more before traveling to Iowa City.

Northwestern is legit good and will be in their fancy new stadium. The Cats are the biggest challenge.

PJ will want to beat Iowa really bad but the Hawks have the better team. Wisconsin is in Kinnick on Halloween.
