I wouldn't take this to the bank because I just did some quick math on my phones calculator and could be all wrong on this but looks like ER best owp would be around .6111 and Andrews around .49667 but if Andrews wins and ER loses depending on the final oowp I see a mathematical possibility of Andrews going jumping to #1 but not if ER wins.

I don't understand how my comment came across as coming on the thread hoping ER would lose I was just trying to make a point of how important of a game it could be. There are other games Friday that could affect the RPI and seeding for the playoffs.And orange/blue team’s mascot is???

These Mt Airy folks on here are something else. One of them is anyway.
Should be a good test for ER going into the playoffs win or lose. Glad it’s the last game of the season vs the Wheatmore game where you just cruise in with no resistance. Randleman is better than I expected them to be this season. I’m not sure ER is as good as last years squad top to bottom. Hopefully that isn’t letting the cat out of the bag. More impressive in some areas less so in others. Not sure what to expect out of them come playoff time but feels like the talent in the area this year has been strong and competitive.

Well being an old, admittedly, southern athlete, I cannot grasp the concept of pulling for a team to lose just so your team can do better. Always used to want to beat a team perceived to be better to prove a point. Not root for others to do it. That’s ok though I guess. Chute started this thread probably thinking it would be like most this year where he and I joke back and forth a couple of times then he gives an in depth report next day of game.,,

I am sure that the overwhelming number of people on the one A thread would give up a weeks pay for Mt Airy to lose 8, 9, 10 games a year. LOL While I am not would wish another team to lose (unless they are playing the Granite Bears of course) I can see the logic of it. You know, seedings, pairings, etc.
I am pretty sure that a lot of the 2A thread people were pretty happy with Shelby's early season difficulties. Just saying.

Actually from what I have read on the 2A threads, not so much. Shelby, if they beat Burns Friday, will still be seeded with conference champions. The only thing early struggles did was probably send them on road around third round which might not be fun for anyone seeded higher.

Again I maybe way off but as far as I can figure even if ER loses I don't believe it will help MA anyway the only team I see MA passing and if I'm right probably will is Thomasville possibly even if Tville wins their game but the highest I see MA owp going up is to around .44444. of course like I mentioned before it depends on the final oowp but I just don't think that ER , Andrews or Murphy ( no matter who wins that game) oowp will drop enough to make any difference infact Andrews & Murphy's may even go up.

Well who even loses that game MA will be seeded higher because of being conference champions.
But wether just in the RPI I'm don't know, estimating the owp is part math and part guessing how a team's pass opponents will do in their next game but at worst if that's a BIG IF I'm correct Murphy owp should a least stay around 5.3889 and I don't see how their oowp changes that much but that's quite a bit harder to figure out. But if that's turns out to be close then yeah Murphy in RPI ranking can stay higher the owp is worth 40%.
Put it this way if say MA wins so their wp is .90 and their owp is .4444 and the oowp goes up to say .5000 that's a RPI of 0.59776
And if Murphy loses so their wp is .70 and their owp is .53889 and we leave their oowp where is now 0.58547 that's a RPI of 0.601197.
But in the end I could be way off plus even if true the seeding is what counts.
This event will boil down to which squad and staff has the largest supply of fire inside.
Well thanks to the buzzing this thread has had 34 replies before this. I think that’s a new record for an ER/Chute thread so far this year. Usually ranges between 5-20 replies depending on what he and I discuss. Must be getting closer to playoff time. ER normally not talked about very much on here except in passing. So I guess thank you buzz for being a contrarian? At least people are talking.
