They don't. Pope had a disappointing season, and while he still has time to bring home a strong recruiting class, he is behind there as well, which leads people to create narratives and run with them like facts, and the bandwagon jumps on and there it goes. I saw another thread more than one poster saying we should bring in Rick Pitino Jr LMAO. Popes first season at UK, which made the S16, does zero to help him with the fanbase here, but it would constitute the greatest season in Pitino Jr's entire career, as he has never been past the round of 32. Folks take a narrative and then go to extremes, like "bring back Cal" or "give Donovan a blank check"...Cal crapped all over the program when he left by taking everything but the kitchen sink with him to Arkansas and Donovan has turned us down more times than a fat girl asking Dallas Cowboys to go to the prom with her, but some folks still want to go beg the same folks to come back here. Sad
Exactly, excellent post. I can't disagree with one thing you said. I get very tired of the posters who come on and make unsubstantiated posts and then run off when you call them on it. All they do is stir up those who believe everything as fact and just create more negativity. Have to believe many really aren't UK fans at all.

Guys that aren’t offered don’t get their picture taken in Ky Uniforms inside Rupp.
Huge embarrassment for both.u
There is a such thing as a committable offer and non committable right now offer. Apparently that’s how they treating rancik. Trying on a uniform every recruit who visits does that.

His entire recruitment has become rancid with Pope.
I like the guy too. Should’ve been a no brainer to be a part of the roster. Think he could come in an be a great 15 minutes a game player off the bench. Maybe could surprise us and play more but still need bodies and need to make these guys a good offer where they don’t need to think about other teams. I feel like they’re just low balling everyone this year and not offering enough to lock them down. Has and will cost more good players I’m afraid.

This guy isn’t a starter, he hopefully would be a backup. I’m sure he was made a good offer. Are you telling me, you would rather go to Florida State, one of the worst programs in the ACC rather than come to UK, where every game is on national TV? Is that what your telling me?

He absolutely is a starter and a good one. If Freeman is here and he comes off the bench, he will still play the same minutes as MM and Freeman. He is easily better than Mo and Jelly who split the job last season

He might be a better natural fit than Freeman. Freeman is the more talented player, but there’s some skillset overlap with Zoom, (possibly) Wilkins if you get Freeman. Ransik is absolutely a take if you get him. Either guy and you have a good 4 man

You might be right, I’m sure he can contribute. I’m sure he can start most places and do fine but if y’all want Pope around, this guy isn’t one that’s gonna hold up in the SEC. Ideally you want Freeman to start and this guy to come off the bench. I’m doubting Pope is selling him as a starter especially with an offer to Freeman on the table. He has offered backup.

It’s Freeman OR Ransik, not both. Whoever pops is the starter.

I know after they finally get the roster built, Pope and his staff need to get together collectively and figure out what’s going wrong and making it so difficult for them with recruiting. If he wants to make it here, whatever the issues are they need to be addressed.
It really doesn’t matter. This is his last recruiting cycle here anyway.

I try to be as positive as I can but I've never been a fan of Mark Fox. He is a worse version of David Hobbs imo.
Same. I haven’t cared for him since his days at Georgia. Never in a million years should he have a job here. Even as an assistant. He’s the buddy hire that adds nothing. He’s the new Bruiser Flint.
