But what I don't get is Held always saying the "RB's have to run through the smoke." Mo and WanDale got a lot of carries cause they practiced running through the smoke in their dorm rooms.
First off, like others in this thread, I had written off Rahmir. Main reason being the exact quote you cite from Held. In the past Rahmir would have a huge hole in front of him and hesitate in the backfield. His score against Rutgers last year showed this and even against OU on his sideline receptions you see a LOT of potential real estate if he just catches the ball and immediately starts getting upfield. You can't hesitate when you have space in front of you. The blocking was there for him to potentially house it on one of the plays, so even though his #s are respectable there was more for the taking there.
I did like seeing him run physically through contact. That was a new thing and maybe he is starting to break out here. We need him to because it does look like he is easily the fastest of our RBs.
He's accomplished at it as well. Has gotten better since the beginning of the year. Those two are the best at it and I absolutely think it's one of the main reasons they get PT. Getting Adrian killed is an ez way to find the bench.

All you guys were claiming we had to back up the money truck for him just a couple years ago. No wonder other fans make fun of us. We really eat our own most days.
So he makes a head lowering block which was good then stops on the play instead of going after 2 other guys to block. Seems like NFL caliber to me.
I think Morrison has looked explosive in his limited carries, just hasn’t had any room to run. Would like to see him get more carries. I’m guessing he struggles in pass pro too ? Honestly haven’t seen enough of him to know
I will echo the comments of some others. Rahmir was just a straight line runner last year with very low creativity. This year he is noticeably stronger and he is side stepping some guys in the hole at least for extra yards.
I maintain that these running backs still have not sniffed a fair shot with consistent blocking and zone reads. It’s the same thing we’ve seen in the first half of every Frost year so far, with a bunch of different backs.

I am not as impressed by Rahmir as the others, but I do think there is a lot of inconsistency in the OL, so their performance has been mixed as a result.
