Rahmir Johnson to Nebraska

First of all, in your offense that McNulty is installing, you need an between the tackles runner which is why Garwo, Henderson and McKenzie where all higher than Kid Jet Sweep Johnson. He doesn’t fit in your offense. Aaron Young has legit high P-5 offers in Maryland, Stanford, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Iowa, Nebraska, Michigan State, UNC, Ole Miss, Minnesota, Pitt, and West Virginia. He doesn’t have an offer from PSU because the Lions have national targets. Getting McKenzie creates more buzz for you locally than getting the “fast” kid who by the way ran a 4.6 at the Nike event. Let the coaches recruit. Only Rutgers in his top four didn’t run a spread offense. Read his comments, he choose the offense that best fitted him.
You make some good points for sure but...

First, according to TOS Rahmir is 5'10" 175 while McKenzie is 5'9" 180, while young is 5'9" 190...they are all practically the same size and as a taller back Rahmir may have more weight to fill out...

Second, I don't know if our staff even knows what kind of offense they are going to run, they have recruited for three years for a more spread based offense they aren't suddenly going to move to a pro style between the tackles just because that is McNulty's expertise...

To suggest the staff didn't want Johnson is just foolish...and if they don't land Garwo, Young or McKenzie...then what?

If we land none expect the usual to happen in those situations. The staff cooled on him or the staff is going with a diamond in the rough with offers from no other Power 5 school. Grades may be an issue is another spin that may be spun if we strike out. IF Ash does not get it done we cannot pay league minimum again. Not in the BIG Eastern division The Wisconsin and Iowa models do not apply for us. We play in the more complicated and competitive BIG division. All in or we are Indiana and Purdue for infinity and beyond.

So we can’t get better players until till we start winning, but we can’t start winning until we get better players?

I'm talking about some of the top NJ players. Of course we need better players, but it doesn't matter as much where they come from. If we can get them from PA, FL, OH, or wherever and if Ash or whoever might coach if he fails can do a good job of getting the most out of them, then maybe some of the NJ players who tend to leave the state may eventually stay home. Fact is, nobody is going to make a revolution overnight or even over 2-3 years. It's a gradual process that takes time, work and patience on everybody's part. Agonizing about losing each potential recruit is ridiculous and a waste of time. But that's just my opinion.

How is it foolish? Its right there in your face. If you don't believe that "Rutgers" isn't losing sleep over a this kid because its "Rutgers", then ok say that.

The problem is this is happening over and over again with us and the Top NJ recruits.
It's been happening forever. Why would it change ? We have neither the financial resources nor fan interest to get to the level that some here seem to think is attainable. i think it's a pretty good bet that it is not.

Do you get a kick out of insults? In your normal day to day when someone at work or at home does not agree with you do you start insulting them? You must do really well in whatever line of work you chose.

I do spectacularly well, thank you. Part of the reason is that I know the difference between an insult and a suggestion.

You, on the other hand, seem to have some challenges with your comprehension skills. Also, you complain a lot.

Just an observation.

I understand that the idea is to get B10 talent, no matter the location, but I can't remember a time RU (and I assume most state schools of similar stature) recruited well while stinking it up in NJ. The failure to make any sort of dent in the NJ top 10 is the product of lackluster recruiting and Ash's struggles to generate a buzz around the program (which is obviously not entirely his fault). Ash (and this program) desperately need Sitkowski to have a Ray Rice esque presence in both production and attention to the program.

You do have the tendency for throwing shade towards those who have an adverse view point...but I think it's because you believe you are providing a valuable board contribution by outting trolls...problem is, not everyone with an adverse opinion is indeed a troll...just an observation...

True. But most of the ones that draw my attention, in fact, are. Conservative estimates would have me batting somewhere just north of .650. That's pretty good, right?

This is about as dumb a comment as I've ever seen on this board...how many NJ kids got drafted or signed UDFA deals with NFL teams this past couple weeks alone? NJ has a TON of high level football talent...

These are also national recruiting sites that rate recruits on the same basis and who generally compete against each other at regional and national camps...so to say a 2* is better than a 3 or 4* is just plain dumb...

Nobody liked your comment so stop being a jackass.

He is entitled to his opinion as is every other poster. Agree to disagree or use the ignore but just because one guy says it so does not make it so. For example I believe a true die hard is the one who contributed to the BIG Build fund. Those that did not are simply not Rutgers die hard s because that fund IMO has been the most important fund in RU Football history. So how. An you be a die hard and contribute 0 to that. You see that is my opinion and I am entitled to it. Have a great day fellow die hards.

JC, chrisru99 has pumped this same mantra for a while now. He disappeared for a while and now he's back. It's always the fan base is cheap and doesn't deserve nice things and the coaching staff isn't getting it done. Then when you counter his claim, he throws out the "No need to insult me", woe is me defense. What was so bad with, "maybe you should become a psu fan?". Was that really so degrading or insulting? Then he throws out the well my diploma says Rutgers on it or put me on ignore, defense. I have yet to see this guy say one positive thing about the University he claims to have graduated from.

Graduated twice from to boot. I did not disappear I was banned. No one ever countered a thing I said. Unless throwing out insults are counter arguments? That’s your opinion and thank god the mods are gone. Oh wait they are still here because the other site did not go according to plan. They can’t ban me anymore because we don’t share the same opinion and or people complain about being called out for not donating to the BIG fund.

Ok internet tough guy...

Look I really don't care if you think my opinions are dumb and it's not about being an internet tough guy. However, saying it is a jackass thing to do to your fellow Rutgers fan. Therefore, I called you out (just like you called me out for my opinion). In the Schiano days, the team seemed better when it was filled with under recruited FL guys. My opinion is that those teams would have done better with the current schedule. If you disagree, good for you.

And I am entitled to mine. If he wants to be condescending, that's ok but I have the right to call him a jackass.

What does having Florida kids playing against this schedule have to do with making a dumb statement that 2* Florida kids are better than 3* NJ kids? If what you say is true then the entire recruiting ranking system is flawed and no one should ever pay attention to stars or recruiting rankings...

No, "dumb" buddy. I used the word "opinion" and I remember in 4th grade reading class that opinion is a statement that cannot be true nor false (or proven nor disproven). Obviously, our education level is different. lol

EDIT: BTW, since you didn't ask, I do believe stars matter but it is an inexact science based on people's opinions. Otherwise, Savon Huggins, a good guy btw and a loyal son, would have all the rushing records at Rutgers.
