The policy is no umbrellas and always has been. Well, unless it’s raining really hard like it was yesterday. I left my umbrella in the car and got really wet only to discover that they were allowed in yesterday!

There was actually a thread on this yesterday letting folks know it was supposed to be ok yesterday. Sorry you missed it. PLEASANTLY surprised by the move.

They were even handing out plastic sleeves upon entry to store wet umbrellas to avoid dripping wet floors throughout the concourses and in the stands.

Perfect example of the RU screw

Not only were umbrellas allowed in, but they were handing out at the door 30" long plastic "WET BAGS" to put them in.

I guess they realized they were going to have 2,000 umbrellas to deal with at the door if they didn't allow them in. Must have been a game time decision.

Except for the fact the lines were so ridiculously long because of the umbrella!!

In 39 years, I have never seen lines that long....in a steady rain that took forever to get inside...

FYI: I did not get a notice on the umbrella's allowed....still have not received the email for Football Season Ticket renewal....Rutgers IT needs an overhaul...they claim their email was rejected by Optimum....reported the problem 3 weeks ago and still no emails.

RcBeta, I went years and years and never got any emails from Rutgers even though I had given my email address. Then out of nowhere, they started pouring in . By the way, Tickets for the Texas Bowl have gone on sale.

Yes they were pretty long but I thought it moved fairly well. I'll trade that for being able to use an umbrella on a day like yesterday any day.
People were actually smart enough to raise theirs up while on line to form a huge canopy that covered others without.

So the lesson might be to put up some kind of canopy at the door for very wet days... allow people to lower their umbrellas and shake them off outside

This was definitely a smart move on Rutgers' part. If you're walking from the outer reaches of the yellow lot, you're going to be soaked without an umbrella. Handing out bags helped to keep the stands and stairways dry. I have to give RU some kudos there.
It's only a guess, but it looked like there were fewer doors open to let fans in than normal. That's what seemed to hold up the show, but I could be wrong.

The RAC should allow entrance from the parking lot side of the building in addition to that in the front. Especially on a day like yesterday...
