Many have lamented the poor attendance at the RAC. But, that's what years of losing does. I believe non-student attendance will increase substantially if and when RU re-establishes a healthy winning percentage at home. Winning cures attendance problems just like losing causes them. I thought this article about Pitt's sagging attendance proves the point. Pitt used to regularly sellout when they were near the top of the Big East. Now, they drew only 2,300 fans to their recent game against nationally ranked WVU.

In any event, it's great to see the students start to turnout for the big games. If RU can remain competitive in and win some of those games, the students should keep coming. That should be the beginning of the resurrection of the RAC. But, the ultimate success in that regard lies with Pike and his players. They need to win some big conference games at home! I think they can.

lol, yeah so it seems Mount Saint Mary's is also called The Mountaineers. And the article started off talking about West Virginia, so it was confusing.

When Waters was here we set RECORDS for attendance almost on a weekly basis
we have had some sorry coaches between then and coach P

Thank God for coach P !!!!

The students actually showed for NJIT. Attendance is a lagging indicator so pay no attention to it.

Players diving on the floor for basketballs is a better topic.

Winning is the cure all for attendance in all sports along with a state culture that supports college athletics.NJ isn't one of those states except in rare occasions.

It was an "International Student Day" promotion so there's always a pretty good one-time bump in attendance by international students.

There always are occasions when season ticket holders sell their tickets to Rutgers fans , opponents or the general public.
