Didn't Michigan use a little zone last night and mixed it up?
What's with the stubbornness and lack of mixing it up costing us?

Not a happy camper...and HATE the Maze and Blew!

The main weakness of most zone defenses is effectively defending the 3. Man to man is typically better at defending perimeter shots. Michigan shoots the three much better than we do which is why the zone is more effective against us than them. When teams hit 3's vs man it's due mainly to setting screens for perimeter shooters or quick ball reversals and slower closeouts on the shooter.

We've been surprised by the zone on a few occasions recently (Illini / Mich). I'm not suggesting we scrap man to man, or even employ zone 50% of the time...but occasionally it throwing in with the full court press, employing the zone would he imo analogous to a blitz in football.

Then go back to man...and keep the bastards guessing!
