That 17ing sucks. We just lost Jerry Jeff Walker this weekend now Billy Joe 2020 please hurry up and end. I saw him a 2 years ago at a small venue and he put on a hell of a show even at 79.

I really wanted to see him at the Jimmie Rodgers Music Festival four years ago but he became ill the day he was supposed to perform.

Not to make light of it but these guys lived a long prosperous life. They lived the dream.

BS, Billy Said he was going to live forever. Hopefully he is with his son right now somewhere. He was a proud christian and let you know it at his shows.

I got bad news: things aint magically getting better January 1.

I got to see Billy Joe at several of Willie’s picnics and a club show. He would raise hell and have fun, but when he got to one of his gospel songs, you could feel the Holy Spirit. It gave me goosebumps. It was almost like performance art but he was 100% real with no artifice. If you haven’t seen the Mike Judge Tales from the Tour Bus episodes about Billy Joe and Waylon, they’re worth watching.

[CochiseCowbell]

All of those Tales from the Tour Bus episodes are really interesting, but the Outlaw Country ones really took the cake.

Saw him at the Blue Canoe Tupelo 3-4 years. Played for 3 solid hours

[Slippery Pete]

Saw him at the Melting Point in Athens, GA in 2007. He put on a good show.
