The Leemen have had a tough stretch against some of the best teams in Virginia. Lee lost to Spotswood in a game where Darius George got in foul trouble 69-43. Lee then in a game that was tied late in the fourth quarter fell on the road to Waynesboro 69-60. Lee then lost to Armstrong 87-75 at the Spotswood Invitational. Finally the Leemen fell to 4A power Loudoun Valley 94-68. Not a good stretch but...good in the long run. All of those teams are quite capable of final four runs. Armstrong is the only real inconsistent...but they have played a brutal schedule. Loudoun Valley also beat Spotswood in the Spotswood Invitational 71-67.

Lee (3-4) is starting to develop more scoring around George and that is going to be huge moving forward. As we all know the focus is on Conference Tourney play and then Regional play. Lee will be in the mix to make a deep run come that time. As for now the tough stretch against 4 very good basketball teams is over...and time to move on to a New Year. I expect Lee will have a better week this week. The Leemen have four games beginning on Monday. Lee will host the Australian Energy, Turner Ashby, Harrisonburg, and then play Stuarts Draft in Lexington at the Rock The Ribbon Tourney.

Does anyone know how many teams out C-36 advance to the regionals this season? In the past it has been four. Is that the case this season? I hope everyone has a Happy New Year!
