I'm not sure all of those programs are considered "blue blood" annual Top 25 types. But yes, its a nice year for the "other guys".

Glad to see all those ACC schools looking nice and lowly. Duke & UNC especially

Before today, the last time there was an AP poll without North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas or UCLA was December 1961.

UCLA did make the Coaches' poll, which just came out, but the OP's basic point is well taken. It is a strange basketball season on several levels.
