thought this was interesting and wondering why Durant is doing these, and saw this

"Durant’s remarks were made as part of a project with Outsider, a New York City-based media company that focuses on high school athletes. As an investor with the company, Durant has also analyzed videos of other top prospects, such as Zion Williamson, LaMelo Ball and Shareef O’Neal."

Simple. JQ's parents have hired a very good lawyer/PR team. Or more likely, their lawyer has hired a good PR team. And they don't have to pay 'em, just agree to a future cut of JQ's Pro earnings. This was set up wonderfully. All part of JQ's image rehab.

When is the last time a 5-star recruit made a commitment to a program ranked #120 by Sagarin (Rutgers) and saw it through? Maybe Larry Byrd to Indiana State?

Vanderbilt is #103 in KenPom has two 5-star commits.

This kid gonna get Monopoly money thrown at him by every student section in the conference.

That's assuming he's eligible. His recruitment is absolutely uncharted waters right now. He may commit to a school and never put on a uniform. And how about this, any Head Coach who wants to recruit this kid has to call the University President first and clear it with him.

He was thought to be headed to Villanova before Arizona wowed him with whatever. If he is clean, I think Jay would still take him.

Quinerly is the type of point guard that fans wish he played for Rutgers and then reality sets in watching him play for a elite team in the NCAA Tournament.

Nova will land another 5* PG from St Louis soon, which will drop them off the Quinerly chase.....Oklahoma is the leader for Quinerly as of now.

Sorry to hear that but if he isn't coming here could see where playing at OU and for Lon Kruger would be attractive.

While it would be great to get a 1 and done, we would be better off to get a few 4 star kids who stay 3 years.

One could argue that as wildly athletic and inconsistent as Corey Sanders is, that for one year next year, Sanders as a senior makes more sense for RU than a Quinerly as a one and done on the court.

What gets lost in that actual statement is the overall impact that a Quinerly verbal for a RU could do in the region and conference, even if he was not as strong of a player next year as a Sanders could be on the court....the overflow of news, media hits and others that would catch an RU game would be much higher with a Quinerly.

I am more apt to see how other recruits pick their school and watch the trickle down impact on what schools are left...it's possible that Oklahoma is already at their limit for scholarships, even if you subtract Trae Young, but when you are given free reign to take any shot and you are capable of 6-8 assists a night, I can see Oklahoma making sense for a lead guard.

Was at a HS game last night and saw a guy I've known for a long time and usually gives pretty accurate info.

Claims he'll commit to Nova and be eligible to play next year

That helps us with some of the other guys we're chasing, right?

JQ was strongly considering Villanova since early in his recruitment

This doesn’t help us with
-Hyatt (2018 or 2019)
-Emmanuel (2018)
-Dixon (2019)
-Battle (2019)

But certainly would not hurt us with Paul mulchay (2019) who nova is going to be a prime contender for, but would be a harder sell playing behind JQ for years.

We need three of these five signed by November to keep the recruiting momentum going

Big 10 months coming up for the future direction of this program

A Pikiell 4th year roster of 2019-2020 roster of

Sr (3)....carter/onamuyri//thiam
Jr (3).....baker/doucoure/kiss
So (5)....Mathis/Hyatt/Johnson/Harper/Manual
Fr (2)....Mulchay/Dixon

Has us going in the truly in the right direction

Remember, according to this board everyone is cheating is except Rutgers, everyone gets favorable ref treatment except Rutgers, everyone gets fair coverage in the media except Rutgers...

It's part of how we rationalize sucking year after year. If we ever hire the right people and those people are competent and become accountable for our success, and we provide resources, we will eventually succeed.

Lack of resources provided and a history of terrible hires have made it impossible.
