-The statue in beside Ballew Hall is titled Trousse Blanc (translated 'white kit'). It was donated by the Bryan family and is supposedly a representation of a swine uterus.
-That ugly iron statue that once graced the front steps of Allen Hall (doggie style) is supposed to represent the challenging and sometimes awkward path to success. Allen Hall was the grandest structure on campus at that time. It housed the presidents office and campus leadership, the college of education, much of the business college, the computing center (which was state of the art and a world leader in computing power and technology) and the building represented the heights achieved by MSU at the time. The statue "embodied the grandeur" of the building. Nobody but Dr. McComas ever thought so though.
-There was occult activity on the top floor of Montgomery Hall in the early '80s. I was in high school in Starkville at that time and was able to go up and see the room a couple of times after there had been a satanic ceremony the night before. It was bad freaky and I definitely lost sleep over it. A big pentagram drawn in chalk on the floor, blood spattered around, candle wax puddles at the 5 tips of the pentagram and little charms and trinkets lying around. The people that work in that building say they hear and see weird stuff all the time. Most of the custodial service personnel refuse to work there at night.
