So many hot garbage F'ing takes in this thread. And none of you will ever acknowledge your stupidity.

now this is a puzzling post....for one this team was playing awful putrid basketball for 5 months. It lost to a younger and terrible Fordham and barely got by 3 cupcakes at home and one went down to the last shot. It returned to Big 10 action and were literally wiped off the court at home against Maryland. I do not think anyone was out line in bringing up questions and criticisms...and we see that the staff made huge lineup changes that many here wanted to see earlier and it resulted in a big win where everyone has given credit for.

Did you mean 1 month? Not 5? Maybe that's what I'm talking about, the wild swings in logic and exaggeration on the board. It was widely accepted up through the first 2 B1G losses, following the upset of Miami, that the team was playing well... well enough to raise expectations. The road loss to Wisconsin was on 12/3, and if not for the (admittedly putrid) loss to Fordham on 12/8, a lot of this would be moot. Even if you accept that everything up to and including the loss to Maryland on 1/5 was putrid, it's hard to say anything before that was bad except possibly the loss to a St. John's team that has proved to be better than anyone thought.

So you've got 1 month, not 5, that you could refer to in the way that you have, and you have people on here with hot takes such as "pike cant coach offensive basketball, that should be obvious."

You also have a bunch of people on this thread that were calling many of the young guys that led us to a win last night "busts" 3 weeks into the season and now praising them as saviors from these inept upperclassmen (who have won us some games and may be struggling for a minute).

So sorry if I overreacted to your over-reaction thread. Maybe I'm just stupid and dont understand the basketball like all of you geniuses.

Chill out. You leave no room for any typos. He probably meant 5 weeks, not months(or games, or maybe 4 weeks). You choose to blow it up into a scathing gotcha. Jump on anything to make a major deal about it. The main point is still valid.

Also, btw, you’re calling out a poster who has grounded expectations and not looking for an ncaa bid next year. Those 5 games were concerning. This 1 game doesn’t erase those concerns- only quells them. And even if the year ends up on a disappointing fashion, most real followers will be ok with it- because this was supposed to be a step back year. A step forward next year was always how the chips looked. That doesn’t mean ncaa.

All this showed yesterday is that we have a very young team that will learn to play together, but will have ups and down along the way. Can't we just enjoy the ups a little?

I meant 5 games

My point stands. I think you were overreacting to people posting criticism during a bad 5 game stretch of basketball

Apparently not. This thread is an abomination.

The 5 games prior to OSU made this a valid observation, now you idiots are bumping the thread after one win.
I'm having funny with thread. At no point did I call some an idiot. That's your shortcoming for using such language. Also, I understand the wild swings in the level play when it comes to college sports. Sports are heavily influenced by emotions especially when it comes to college age kids. Relax man.
