question on signing period

Rivals shows that 5 star WR Jadon Haselwood committed to OU on 1/5/19, just last week....Rivals also shows that Haselwood is signed....This doesnt make sense...I thought players that didnt sign in early Dec signing period had to wait until february signing period. anybody know how he signed during January?

I’m guessing he signed in December but kept it quiet so that he could announce at the AA game.
