Have we clinched an NIT berth even if we lose final 6 games. Or do we need to be at least 500 in league play. I know they changed the rules a bunch over last few years.

If we lose out we would be 18-14 in the toughest conference in America. RU is all but ensured postseason play either in the NCAA Tourney, or a 1/2 seed in NIT at worst.
Based on previous years, yes. Basically, if you are one of the top 20 teams in NET to miss the NCAAs, you are in NIT 95% of the time or more. One more win by Rutgers in any game would be a lock for an NIT top seed.

At this point anything else is a disappointment. If it was Geo’s last year I’d consider it.
A true & loyal RU fan would attend any game by RU. Before the season most posters were just hoping for a winning season and hoping for a post season. I know I would be very disappointed if we should miss the NCAA but I have supported RU and attended games for 49 years. The kids would still deserve our support if they were still playing even if it was the NIT. Bandwagon fans would probably not support the team but I am a 100 % fan for our team all the time.
Hahah. Obviously, NIT would be a massive disappointment at this point but no way we or anyone would turn it down. Even Kentucky player in it s few years back. Same with Maryland, Michigan. Ect...
Yes. And sacrifice several additional weeks of practice and post season play. Good idea.
we can also have football team decline any non playoff bowl game too.

It's a loser mentality to be talking about the NIT at this point. The goal is the NCAA Tournament, and the mindset on the team (and us) has got to be to get that Tourney slot and not be thinking about a backup option.

When the goal was a winning record you 100% take the NIT, get rid of that “14 years without a post season berth” stat and get some more RAC games and potentially MSG
