Now that we are running the ball more, is there any use for play-action?

Or, is the air-raid scheme not compatible?

I've always felt play-action is way under utilized in college football in general. I guess the capability of a QB and RB to sell it is a big factor. It's amazing how seasoned NFL players bite on it routinely though.

Pros are better at selling it basically bc they are pros and better at everything. Second it works better when QB is under center, but it can work with shotgun. Lastly in the pros, the game is so fast that unless the linebacker knows the play and he's in a base defense it's extremely difficult not to bite bc if it is a run the linebacker is in the play without having to recover.
