Hey
@DvlDog4WVU since you're the OP of this thread try asking one of the self proclaimed "moderates" on the Left what parts of the Democrat platform as it's being guided by elements of the radical DSA do they disagree with? What are their policy positions to defeat the most radical elements of the DSA which by all intents and purposes is driving the current Democrat party's agenda?
@Gunny46 has posted numerous articles and information on the DSA, and what their chief policy objectives are and I have not read one "moderate" on this forum voice their strong objections to any of it. Not one of 'em!
Trump in his pursuit of the GOP nomination 4 years ago had to assure Conservatives he wasn't a "moderate". He ran against some pretty well known Conservatives in that field, and with his message of American interests first, tax cuts, less regulation, energy independence, border enforcement, a stronger military, Conservative Judges to the Federal courts and firmly Pro Life, he won the trust of GOP Conservatives to deliver on that message and their agenda. He now enjoys over 90% approval in the Republican party, and has near unanimous support as he continues pursuit of that Conservative agenda.
Contrast that to Joe Biden. He was selected by DNC brass over the party's true Socialist conscious Bernie Sanders because it was thought Bernie's undiluted message of Social Liberalism fueled by Government run health care and energy was a loser. Biden has spent his entire campaign trying to convince moderate and swing voters he's not the far Left radical Bernie Sanders is, yet he selects as his running mate the US Senator who has THE most Left wing voting record in the Senate...even more Left wing than Sanders'!
Biden instead of shoring up his Left wing base, appears to avoid their agenda when pressed on it, trying instead to appeal to the media created "moderates" in the Democrat party who are NOT seeing their issues carried by the base voter of the party! Biden signed Bernie's radical agenda and promises Democrat base voters to pursue it, he also put far Left radical Kamala Harris on the ticket. There is nothing "moderate" about that VP choice! (she co-sponsored the New Green deal and wants to eliminate all private health insurance) Why aren't moderates demanding a less radical agenda in their own party if Biden is in control of it? Why doesn't he repudiate the most radical elements of the DSA, in order to assure the wider base of "moderates" in his party, just as Trump assured the Conservative base of his party?
Look at their respective VP choices as proof of what I'm saying. Trump selected Mike Pence as his Veep, a staunch Religious Conservative, Pro Life, strong military, with a voting record 100% in support of Trump's agenda. Biden (who is being promoted as a "moderate") picks Kamala Harris...one of the most Left wing, radical Leftists in the Senate...arguably THE most radical based on her voting record. That is a slap in the face to the supposedly broader based "moderates" inside the Democrat party, and none of them reject this obvious slight to their influence in the party as a bow to the far Left radicals also in it. Why not?
None of them will honestly answer that. However it probably won't hurt to try and see if anyone will or even can?
