There seems to be a growing number of you here on the board lately, more so than any other fanbase. Any reason in particular? It hasn't been all bad . . . just curious.

TIA

As much as certain posters mention RR on the Duke board they might as well advertise it. Some of them are so obsessed, it wouldn't surprise me if they had made multiple accounts specifically for it.

Probably because they get all the calls and get kids eligible when no one else can. I’d say that’s it
Op, this kind of comment should answer your question. It is kind of like trying to debate with 9-11 conspiracy theorists who believe the US government attacked the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and attempted to attack the White House. One knows that they can not win the debate but still feels like one should try even though the effort is futile. You guys have an unusual number of tin foil hats among you and it draws attention.

So duke fans are drawn to conspiracy theorists... but turned off by the conspiracies themselves?

That’s awfully elitist and not something I’m willing to concede of such a bandwagon fan base.

The beauty of it is that we'll find out soon enough. You'll see how games should really be officiated when that clout is gone. Can't wait to see your responses. "Wait, how come no one is buying our head whips" and "What, you're not allowed to make THAT much contact!"

Horse Hockey....period. Start with that and then read a duke fans post on this site. (Some of what most state is true but I doubt they realize it, or care...)(Some post well for many posts but they sooner or later show their horns.)

I mean there are so many duke threads, I can’t blame them. Half of our fan base cares about duke way to much. Stop creating threads about duke and the duke fans will leave.

This 1000 times. We have a certain percent of posters here that hate Duke more than they like UK. Frankly, it's embarrassing.

F off dude. Everyone knows you get ******** calls and your coach is a wimp who gets back surgery everytime he faces adversity. You guys play by a different set of rules and everyone knows it. Take off your Duke covered glasses

I think Duke getting all the ******** calls and favorable draws in the tourney is more believable don’t you think? If only slightly.

It's not that far fetched that an active candidate for the goat and his team would get the benefit of the doubt in regards to calls.

Also it's not much of a reach to think money makes a difference as well. When certain teams are winning there's more interest in the sport. It's just how it is. Dukes brand is bigger than any right now and has been for a while.

UNC has been huge forever as well.

That's the same reason it's no so far fetched to think a football conference would go to certain extreme lengths to try and generate interest in the other revenue sport as well. Because they have to. If fans of other teams in the conference don't think they have a chance they're not going to pay attention.

where there's money it's never far fetched to suggest collusion is probable.

The thing is: everyone is college basketball, well, besides Bilas and Dicky V, believe this, not just Kentucky fans.

Ask any other fan base if they believe this. They’ll all say yes. Why? Because it’s obvious. Lol.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here... I believe all college basketball fans believe all the blue bloods get favorable whistles. Especially at home or nationally televised games. Obviously, we have a hatred for other blue bloods so we notice it more for teams like Duke, UNCheat, Kansas.

But, like I've posted many times here, the obsession with Duke by some of our fans is honestly embarrassing.

Actually, you should tell the truth. You are here because you don’t have a site worth a damn to discuss basketball.

Hey, how come you guys stay in a conference that harbors scum like The Filth (NC) and UL? The Filth proved that the NCAA is woefully biased toward ACC members. Ehh, I guess you enjoy the protection.

Just because they have swagger now. Same thing with the UNCheat and KU fans. They start showing up when things are going well for them.

I've been coming here for a while, just never really post much. I come because there's often a great deal of discussion about the Duke program.

1. Dislike Duke boards because anything critical is treated as blasphemy.
2. Find the Duke fear/hate/paranoia over-the-top and kind of funny.
3. This is a tolerant board and most posters seem like decent folks.
4. This board has by far the most active discussions.

The worst fan base in the world. The biggest collection of band wagon jumpers since the Chicago Bulls group. They are a roaming band of front running fans that have attached themselves to Duke. Most are not worthy of our discussion.

Pretty simple really, Duke fans get burnt sirloin on their own boards, but we give them top choice prime rib with plenty of salad, vegetables and mashed taters with lots of gravy over here with all our paranoid fans.
Oh, then there's pie for desert too, can't forget that.

Sometimes you have to scroll down 3 or 4 threads to find a post about UK. Who cares what a Duke poster thinks

I only care if our dook visitors can explain this one:

It's NOT a FOUL when you're a dookie, apparently. Oh well, it wasn't like it was an important game, or anything.

I guess the AZ kid is lucky the whistle-swallowing-refs didn't call a foul on him... for giving a flagrant piggyback ride.

They are all spies, taking everything back to Ratface. How do you think they come up with embracing one-and-done, plus stealing all of Cal's takes, such as positionless basketball, players first, family atmosphere, etc? Either ban them all, or shoot them, like the spies they are. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Haven't read through all the thread. But I share my reasoning:

1. There are a lot of smart basketball fans here.
2. There is a lot of humor in the posts.
3. Always interesting to see what another top-tier fan base is thinking.
4. The fans here are pretty open and self-critical. There seems to be a lot of self-policing.
5. While I think you have some extremely-biased posters, it's not as toxic as THR has become.
6. When I post here, I try to be respectful. Haven't been banned yet and even got a couple of likes.

Just my point of view.

I like the active discussion here about college basketball. Duke's loyal fanbase isn't nearly as large as BBN.
This is the real answer.

We have a very active board year around which is why we get visitors from everywhere.

There are a lot of Duke threads because we like to talk college basketball in general and they are a top 5 team and our biggest rival/threat currently. There are also Kansas threads and UNC and (insert any SEC team) threads when they have a game on TV if we aren't playing or if they have breaking news.
