Are Quad ratings determined at the end of the season and then retroactively applied to all teams/games over the course of a season, or are they locked in place at the time the games were played? For example, we beat Purdue when they were a Quad 1, but let's say they finish the season poorly and end up as a Quad 2. Is that a Quad 1 or Quad 2 win for us? TIA.

They are retroactive

The Purdue road win will be a Quad 1 win unless Edey misses the rest of the season…and the reason folks root for opponents (especially non-conference foes) is the hope that their NET moves up.
Case in point…Wake Forest crushing BC right now is a good thing. Wake will now be 13-5 with a NET around 80…getting closer to the bubble.

Purdue would need to fall out of the top 70 to fall out of Q1 on the road, which is basically an impossibility. But not all Q1 is created equal

Also, the upcoming Ohio State is a rare opportunity for a Quad 1 home win…assuming OSU doesn’t fall past a NET of 30 at season’s end. Huge game.

The information is updated continually during the season and as a result are subject to change.

Indiana was a Quad 1 win but because of their recent struggles it is now a Quad 2 win because they went 3-5 in their next 8 games after RU. They beat a ranked Wisconsin team today so if they start winning again that game could move back to Quad 1 again.
