Question about Harper and Strickland

For those who think this is my worst question ever,you would be wrong. So here goes,when you have a kid who has parents who made millions,do any coaches ever say,we really want your son,but we also need several more good players at other positions.Would you be willing to not take a scholarship so we can improve the team faster? I know we are talking about $100000 to over $200000 depending on the school,but if someone has millions in the bank,would some parents go along with that if their kid really wants to go to that college?

FWIW - Denzel Washingon would not allow his son to accept a football scholie. When he was told he AD to for his son to play, he donated an in kind amount to that school to start a scholarship fund for a deserving student. Amazing guy.
