I think the people on this board has determined that they are stupid. I guess they don't remember being a kid. . To answer your question, I don't know either sorry

This was the first season my son (7) really got into watching games with him and he loved Tyler Herro. Hoping to make it to the Cold Spring signing next Thursday. I've never been to one and dont know what to expect so any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
I personally don’t agree with “Idol Worship”, but good for you giving your 7 year old that experience. Autographs are like Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny, something for kids, otherwise not so much.

I haven't been to one in years but when I did there would be huge lines. So you need to get there early to guarantee you get one. Some of them require you to buy something from them to be signed or they just have things available you can buy if you don't have anything with you. I had one of those basketballs with the white panels on them you can sign when I got Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel, and Darius Miller to autograph it. You just had to pay a fee for them to do it.

I live in Nky. I would try and get there early as I know most of the tours to Barleycorns (if that is where it is) have been packed.

Good for you on taking your son!

I took my 6 year old to his first game at Rupp this year, he loved it. We are doing Cals Father Son Camp in June, cannot wait.

I'll never forget my dad taking me to meet Mashburn at Louisville Fair Grounds right before NBA Draft.

You are making a great memory for your boy and that is a big part of what being a parent is about!

I won a Tiger signed hat from early 2000's at an estate auction...with certificate of authenticity. It was an absolute steal and this was about a year ago.

I'm an avid golfer and that was an investment.

Thanks for answering the OP constructively instead of being negative. Good luck OP and enjoy the experience with your son. At 7, you SHOULD have idols and long after the autograph is gone you'll still be the most important of them for sure.

My co-worker took his grandson to Travis' signing at Barleycorn's in Cold Springs. Said it wasn't too bad of a line. Yes there is a fee to have items signed. But he said Travis did a great job of taking a minute or two with each kid. I didn't ask if photos are allowed.

Any idea what the fee is...I'm assuming it's in the $25 range

Even as a child, I have never understood getting autographs. And I certainly wouldn't pay for one. I'd love for someone to explain the appeal.
This will be the 1st in my lifetime. And its 100% more about my son getting to meet his favorite player from the 1st team that he loved. I have zero issue with paying for that experience for him.

Look if you dont get the appeal and dont like them, cool. But stfu!! No one cares what you think

This is a guy trying to do something cool for his kid and asked very politely for some advice

If you dont have advice and just came to be critical, gtfo here....not needed here

Anyone who cant remmeber being a kid and how cool an autograph would be from soemone you see on tv when your young, then idk what to tell you. But as a young child it seems pretty damn cool.

I mean its bad enough woth kids growing up with all the hate on social media. Kids dont need jaded adults bashing on something they enjoy. Can kids just be kids anymore??

You can get a photo signed for $25-$35 dollars. Some have T-shirts and hats too. You can get other things signed that you bring yourself but the fee is the same as buying a picture. Get there early. I went to the Benny Snell signing in Louisville and was the 4th in line. Of course I got there about 5 hours early. By the time he started signing the line was around the store and this was Academy Sports, which is a sizeable place.

I'm sure your son will love meeting his idols. I think it's great you're taking him. I've never been to one, but I have a feeling Tyler is going to be a very popular autograph, so the crowd will probably be pretty big. I would just make sure your son knows you all might be standing in line for a couple of hours to see him.

The only autographs I ever got was from the 1978 UK national championship team and my parents didn't pay a dime for them. I have encountered many players and celebrities through out my life but didn't ask for autograph. Not judging just my life.

It may be awkward for a grown adult to "fan" over a player, but for a young kid, it's a big thrill. And most of the time the player truly enjoys seeing the kids. Like I posted, they said Travis was great with the kids. And Maysville has been fortunate enough to host several UK players at various times (Miller, Boogie, Harrelson, A.D. etc.) and every one of them took the time to take a photo or shake a kid's hand. And you never know what that one moment may do for a kid's confidence, encouragement, attitude, etc.

BTW...We just saw Dontae Allen a couple days ago in Pendleton County and he fits the mold perfectly. He was extremely polite and took photos with everyone that asked (no I didn't), but I can tell you he made the day for a couple of our younger tennis girls who are very shy. He made them feel special for those 3 - 4 minutes. And that's what it's about.

Buy a Ball/Poster/whatever your son wants to get signed before you go to the event because whatever they're selling to be signed will be marked up beyond belief. And bring something to do while you stand in line.

My Dad took me to get Keith Bogans and Juelz Camara (spelling) when I was a young kid. Still remember it and still have both autographed photos. Good on you for giving your son that experience you both will share forever. Hope you all have a great time.

You have no concept of what bashing is if you think that's what my post was doing.

You are a great father. I took my boys to see the Globetrotters at Rupp several years ago and we got s ball autographed by several players and he still has the ball displayed in his room. It's about the experience not the autograph. He will always remember that day when he looks at that ball.
