He was honorable mention all Big Ten in his only season at Michigan State.

He should have just went to NC State or UNC and played with some continuity
Should of played RB in college. On the Michigan St board they didn’t even think he would play much at LB next year. This is one of their staff writers.

“I don't think it hurts them much at all. They're deeper now, they have experience. If Crouch would've stayed, I honestly don't know how much he would've played outside of special teams. Cal, Windmon and Brule are all gonna play a lot, Snow probably will too, and I think VanSumeren will sprinkle in there quite a bit. Crouch's athletic traits were obvious, and he made a few splash plays, but all in all MSU wasn't over the moon with how he played last season. There was *a lot* he was gonna have to refine in Year 2 here regardless of any other additions”

I watched the Ohio State vs Michigan State game last season, and Crouch didn't do much. He had 1 solo tackle, 2 assists.

I thought the same. He missed 3 games last year, and was 4th or 5th in tackles. So now he leaves, and all of sudden. a staff writers says he would've been limited to special teams. Give me a break. That's not usually how it works.

“Totally agree. What was Crouch good for? He upped your athleticism quite a bit even though he was still figuring out the nuances of the position. At the time, it was a tradeoff worth making. Now, you don't have to with two guys with similar athleticism, much more experience and the instincts that come with playing that spot. Windmon and Brule were going to eat into Crouch's snap count regardless because they're just that good. Add in Snow, add in Haladay as a year older, add in VanSumeren who looks like he's slimmer and moving better, ditto for Gaoteote, and the room is in a good place.”

Just from my personal experience from these recruiting site writers when kids leave. He wasn’t who we thought he was, His reps were going to be limited. We’ll be ok, and we wish him well. They’re a little bias.

Wake Forest didn’t say favorable things about Kenneth Walker when he left for more reps at Michigan State. He goes on to win the Doak Walker Award, They could be right, but I wouldn’t bet on it.

He was out with an injury against Maryland and tried to come back versus Ohio State. Played a little bit but that was the end of his season. Probably should have called it a season once he had the injury.

Playing with an injury is not a good look for the young mans future. You figure at a place as MSU, it would have been taken more seriously.

If the kid said he felt good enough to play and was cleared I see no issue. Ohio State also blew them completely off the field, couple that with his first game back is not a good combo.

I expect it was taken seriously but I would think he would want to be on the field really bad for that game. Think it was the Purdue game he suffered the injury. That was their first loss and definitely should have been a W.

Who knows. He is moving on. The new landscape of college football. Playing at two schools will be the norm soon and three will not be super crazy. Just the way it is.

Agree 100%...I just think the vast majority of these kids overplay their hands. For every Justin Fields and Kylar Murray their are hundreds of kids who end up never amounting to much because it becomes a #'s game.

I think three will always be super crazy. It’s like marriages. After the first, mistakes were made on both sides. If you get to the third marriage, look in the mirror. It might be you.
