So our schedule is just fine. Just have to beat Fordham, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Iowa, and Illinois the next time around.

Forget St. John’s

If we were 9/17-8 right now and people would be freaking out around here nwith three to go and people would be on pins and needles around here about making the tournament

you are assuming the Big 10 will have all its teams in the top 100 net next year...that is not always true, it certainly wasnt true the previous season

by the way the only Q1 win was Penn State who is 11-16

also RU's non conference schedule is ranked 293...its up to you whether you think that is okay

I knew you had it in you to find the dark cloud in the silver lining. [roll][roll]
Btw, Northwestern didn't qualify as a quad 1 win?

Northwestern is 85 that is Q2

but realistically you cannot think that the 13th and 14th place teams in the league will be Q1 or even Q2 games going forward..its not likely Every conference has bottom feeders. This season is rare that the bottom of the Big 10 is pretty good.

I for one am not sure I like this system though because it weighs the Penn State game because it was on the road better than the Ohio State and Minnesota wins...sort of silly because those latter teams are NCAA teams...

I thought with all of the B1G teams ranked much higher than Rutgers in all the analytics, it would be a quad 1 victory. None of this crap makes senses to me anyway.

I get it ....I realize that isn’t going to make it in most years ...but this year it does

I think we have to do something to the schedule ...but mostly from the bottom up ..

What ranking system determines the quadrants.

But all of those ranked teams you say we have more Q1 and Q2 wins than probably have a lot fewer losses than we have.

You can play with statistics in a variety of ways. But the bottom line is either beef up the nonconference schedule if we think we can be a bubble team or at least get rid of some of the really bad teams at the bottom.

Under the old system you could "rig" your schedule by playing enough decent teams but no awful ones to give yourself an undeserved good RPI. I'm sure you can do the same thing now.

I wonder what college football would look like if they applied the same quadrant system.
