No it's for all of our posts, We understand we went in over our heads trying to promote sub-par content, with spelling errors. It really was a dumbass thing to do.

It says you are the Editor in Chief and Peyton is the Assistant Editor. It's a good thing if you have another editor guy onboard.

If you are seriously soliciting constructive criticism, here's some:

1. Find someone else to handle your PR. Everyone affiliated with your site that has posted here has hurt your site rather than helped it because of the way they have responded to other posters.

2. Find an editor. I tried to read something on your site, but I couldn't get past the avalanche of grammatical mistakes and misspellings. It might be some of the best content in the world, but if you can't spell or put together grammatically correct sentences, you're not going to last very long. If it were one or two gaffs, that would be one thing, but the mistakes are glaring and all over the place.

Very good advice. I would add, post a link to the article instead of posting the entire article in your post.

Also, try not to be so defensive right from the start. I know written works feel like your kids, but you still have to mold your kids.

DS... you did well to give these guys a mulligan. Everyone has to learn and these guys are Bulldog fans.

Good luck with your website.

I agree with the editor idea, mostly because I just joined as editor. And I will be thoroughly editing all NEW work coming out. Grammar bothers me as much as it does you, and I can't read it after two or three mistakes. Which is why I'm taking over to hopefully prevent those mistakes from continuing. If you read my work, you'll see I don't write that way. And neither will the other contributors moving forward. I hope you will continue to give us a shot and see the improvement as we grow. So wait...

Posting media content onto another website that provides media content was never seen as something that could be taken with a bit of hostility? I understand SPS doesn't necessarily provide the content. But there are people that have put a lot of time in this website that do. Point being, people here are also making an effort to provide such content through various means of media. You would have seen a much more receptive response by the "message board demographic" had this been pursued with the slightest bit of professionalism. But Murica!

"to hopefully prevent' probably should be rendered "hopefully to prevent"

"Which is why I'm taking over to hopefully prevent those mistakes from continuing." This is not a sentence...it needs to be continued from the previous sentence and connected with a comma..... to read....

"Grammar bothers me as much as it does you, and I can't read it after two or three mistakes, which is why I'm taking over in hopes of preventing those mistakes from continuing."

And, grammar is not your 'bother'....incorrect grammar is.....lol. I'm no grammarian, but I did graduate from a small high school over 60 years ago and shame on you, or whomever taught you the rules of grammar, for lessons not taught or not learned....whichever is the case....

6 Pack > ED i'll admit it, but none of the six pack mods approached us, the ED founder did. Our website is only 10 days old, and we needed to hit a view threshold, so we needed someone to get our content more viewership. I'll be honest that was exactly the premise of our deal, nowhere in it did I have to say ED was great.

If you're after quality C34 ain't the way to go. He is on a personal Jihad to see Mullen fired and I have no doubt he will use your site to further this agenda. He has said some very very offensive things and I did not feel sorry for him after the USP incident. His ego is as big as Kim Jong Un's and he tolerates dissenting opinions about as much. I am sure his ED sheep will tune in to your podcast and gloat about how great it is, but for your sake, I hope he doesn't do anything or say anything that prevents you from growing beyond the 10 to 20 people who actually agree with him wholeheartedly.

Just a few things I have learned the hard way:

In life/business being right is not always the most important thing.
Relationships are 100 times harder to rebuild than to establish.
Some things just aren't meant to work out the way you thought they were supposed to.

Good of luck with your site. I hope you succeed and give me a great new website to read.

Just curious. Did you ask for permission to use what they wrote for your article-- or at least give a heads-up?

Setting aside all the smoke around your post, I found the writing to be Well Above Average, even if the content was somewhat unoriginal. There are plenty of established sports sites, MSU-themed and otherwise, where the writing pales in comparison. Prior to reading your piece, I would have never visited your site. The previous content was that bad.

Good luck editing your other writers. You and they are going to need the patience of Job.

Let me see if I've got this straight.

You strike a deal with the founder of ED...a guy who started ED at least in part because he didn't appreciate the way he was being treated here. There is obvious bad-blood between the sites, or at least their owners. They are clearly competing boards.

The aforementioned founder of ED, a guy you have pegged to be the co-host of your JB podcast, which suggests he is important to your hoped-for early success, is busy on ED plugging the deal you have made with them, even getting one of his mods to post this:

"John Bond and Coach34...on a podcast together...wtf?!?

Elitedawgs strikes again! We've entered into an agreement with a new Bulldog news force Hailstate Takeover to sponsor a weekly podcast between...get this...John Bond! and Coach34! Should be an exciting and spirited podcast focusing on all things to do with our football program. As the year and the podcast unfolds it could potentially morph into all sports and cover the big 3 sports.

We look forward to our partnership and hope everyone will visit their site as we will link their articles and the podcast up top.

Stay tuned and visit them at http://hailstatetakes.com
and follow on twitter @hailstatetakes"

And you think it's a good idea to publicly post the above on this competing board?

Regardless of what I, you, or anybody else thinks of ED, throwing a partner under the bus the way you have is not a good look at all...even for those who may not be ED fans.

He definitely is and using the same tired tactics he used when "he got Stans fired." He has even employed multiple personalities to further his efforts. He has been quiet with the Ole Miss/NCAA thing coming to the forefront, but just wait until we get closer to September.

Don't believe me? Just ask him.

This thread has been entertaining on so many levels. I think we should let hailstate take over.

I thought all these new email machines had spell check on em? Unless you are typing on a Smith- Corona or a Remington, then misspelling is a faux pas. By the way, what's a blog?

I'll give you a bit of advice. None of you are really affiliated with MSU except some kid who is currently there and the Bond name drop. You won't gain a lot of listenership from this board as most posters here are grads or long time fans of the university you claim to have expert insight in. You are new money. You saw a potential to make a name by covering a school that has been pretty damn respectable these last few years. You won't know all the heartache we have felt. If you want to pump sunshine Yancy-style then carry on. But please dispense with the internet badass persona.

Actually I've been a MSU fan my whole life, and so has everyone else working for us, on our MSU site. We are launching other websites that we are not fans of but not this one. I've been posting on here for 2 years, and who in their right mind would start a MSU blog over say a bigger fanbase with more potential viewers

Ugh. If I were writing it, I would have wanted to give you a heads-up if only because it's a new website trying to talk about fandom and I think a good way to help that would have been to notify you and let you know what was up and if necessary ask if you wanted to expand on it a little. At the very least, it should have generated some buzz. But at the moment, it appears to me that it's just a buzzkill.
