Prince is the singular greatest musical artist of all time. From creation to execution. His worst moments are better than most’s best.

Who hasn't done "Purple Rain" with a bunch of drunk Germans in a Koreatown karaoke bar, filling the instrumental solos with some improvised white-boy rap? Am I right?

Prince has 47 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, with 19 top 10 hits, and 5 going all the way to #1. Beethoven has none one.

Prince wins....

How soon we forget the disco classic.

Being in middle school during the height of disco, I could not stand the stuff. Learning to dance "The Hustle" in PE, Bay City Rollers on a continual loop at the roller skating rink, it was the worst. Then waiting anxiously for the new Kiss album to arrive from the Columbia Record Club, only to find out they turned disco. Brutal.

Unfortunately I am old enough to remember the Beethoven knock-off by Walter Murphy.

Unless it was KC and the Sunshine band, disco = Iowa (i.e. "sucks").

Example of Kiss turning disco?

Not sure he’s the best but extremely talented and among the best...top 15-20 for sure. We’ve had a lot of musical talent in the last 80 years. Was just listening to Sinatra. He couldn’t play guitar like Prince but he had some chops. Silky smooth. So many GOATs. MJ and Prince ruled the 80s.
