If the Big XII wanted to bring in schools to get back to 12, and wanted to do it geographically for ease of travel and sanity in divisions, these schools are a possibility. Some are ranked in football or in the past 2 seasons, have or had a decent basketball presence, and why not.

Pitt, Cincy, Liberty, Memphis

liberty has a ~$2 billion endowment and 95,000 students.
i'd gather most of those on online, but still, kinda hard to ignore.

But, I can’t imagine Liberty bringing many viewers in media centers to the table. They seem more like an AAC fit.

Why in the hell would Pitt ever leave the ACC to take a dramatic 90% pay cut?

Big 12 should take UCF, Cincy, Memphis, BYU, Boise St. , and Colorado State to get to 14 with a wide coverage of viewership.
