I think he has a pretty decent shot at the full time job but the Bears will have to play a lot better than they did today. Seeing an Eric Washington coordinated defense get steamrolled gave me flashbacks to his NU days when our DL fundamentals were horrible despite having pretty good talent. He is a horrible coach in my opinion.
Hiring Thomas Brown would be so like the Bears. They sure as heck better do better than that.

Have you seen the list of potential replacements? No one jumps out. Who would you recommend?
The answer is Ben Johnson.

It’s possible he won’t join a team that doesn’t have its Penei Sewell.

If Detroit doesn’t win the Super Bowl, it’s also possible he stays, as he did last offseason.

The obvious one is Ben Johnson. However, it’s not my job to find candidates. Somebody that focuses on Caleb’s development. So a hot OC or someone with previous HC experience. Vrabel would vibe better than Brown.

I agree on Vrabel. Probability of success with Johnson or Brown is a pick em in my view.

Would need to settle the lawsuit soon. The new Bears head coach will be in place by this January and the staff will be filled quickly. Count me in as a fan that believes/hopes Thomas Brown does well enough in his interim role to get the full time job as Head Coach. He gives me young Mike Tomlin vibes.
Please retract that Mike Tomlin vibe. I got big time Matt Eberflus vibe on that last drive. Bears have the Worst NFL coaching I can remember.

That problem is easy to fix! Just watch the Titans for a game or two. We're fighting hard for that #1 draft pick.

Yeah, I still think he is a future head coach but it will not be with the Bears after the results of this interim stint. Prior to tonight, the real problem over the last few games has been the atrocious defensive performance. Eric Washington was a bad coach at NU and he is still a bad coach in the NFL.

Bad coach; bad person. Not a good combination.

How is Skoronski viewed there in Nashville? Solid player or disappointment?

Unfortunately for the Titans, they'll probably get a win next weekend, as the Texans are locked into their playoff spot and will likely rest their starters for most of the game. Of course given how poorly the Texans have been playing recently, they'd probably lose to the Titans even with the starters in there.

That might be true if you were looking for OC but that is not the position Bears would be hiring him for nor would he take it from them. Have no idea about how he would be as HC

Clawson's formula for success was similar to Fitz's and just does not work as well in the era of NIL and the portal. He'll need to adjust and it might be easier to do that with a team in the Big Ten where resources ($$$) are more plentiful than in the ACC.

Not exactly, the foundation of Clawson's success at Wake was rolling out some pretty good O-lines.

If going for the Tomlin vibe, Fitz is the college equivalent of Tomlin (more on that later), except for the not having losing seasons part (which is soooooo overrated).
