I keep saying it, but Fran was able to overachieve with less.
Fran didn’t require much defense so players could concentrate on the offensive side of the ball. Playing both ends of the floor requires more stamina which Freeman, for one, lacked.

Oh I don't know. 1 NCAA win with the Garza/Murray/JBo teams in 21 and 22 comes to mind. They were fine in the regular season though.

Definitely postseason underachievers.. I'll say that much.

Did you even watch the games or see his NCAA tournament lack of success ? He never overachie

I’m not sure you know what overachieved means. It doesn’t mean you win anything. It means you do better than you were supposed to. Getting second to last place when you’re predicted to get last is overachieving. Freeman is an absolute lemon at Creighton and Fran got him to be big ten freshman of the year.

Gonna disagree that winning has nothing to do with it in sports. Especially since you used standings as an example to make your point. But if we don't use winning as a criteria for under/overachieving, then what the hell do we use?

Fran had some fairly talented teams that didn't really do anything overly special. That said, there's no real objective way to know what any of Fran's teams were "supposed" to do. Just what we THINK they should have done given the rosters. Outside of back to back teams that got 2 and 5 seeds (only managed to win a single tournament game between them), I can't recall any of his teams having a good enough year to even earn better than a 7 seed. Overachiever? I don't think so.

At any rate, I'm not inclined to argue about it. Fran is old news now.

Based on his recruits having offers from mid majors and coming here and being competitive in the big ten. Our football team notoriously overachieves for the very same reasons.

I'll keep it up as long as he keeps putting up double doubles and shows how little you know about basketball talent.
Feel free to find me saying he sucks. I just don’t think he’s god like you do, but that’s because I watch plenty of hoops & not just one team like yourself.

OP recently said the Hawks would have made the final four in 2020, now starts this thread. The man is either a Fran lover or McCollum hater. Either way, color me surprised he even watches basketball. Didn't expect that.
@fivecardstud14 really knows his bball with his dismissal of the talents of Pryce Sandfort.. He has 32 points at Illinois with 12 minutes left in the game.

Can Nebraska stay undefeated??

Hate to say it, Nebraska is a contender for the conference crown and the 2/3 line in March.

Nebraska reminds me of the good Fran teams who peaked in December/January and then took a **** in Feb/March. Dom Uhl knocking down pull up 3s😂, that **** was never sustainable

I take it you never read my posts on the old board, which make sense, because they were all basketball related. I was always a Pryce fan, just not the dlck-sucker that you are. Stick to whining about politics like the little bltch you are, it’s when you’re at your best.

Just continue to post your stupid comments on this Board that show your lack of knowledge in every aspect.
Lol. Would love to hear some legitimate bball takes from you, bltchboy. Not just the same two things over & over. But that would mean you’d have to actually watch multiple basketball games, which we know that won’t happen.

Man that always blew me away how that guy didn't even get walk on minutes anymore. On a (record-wise) REALLY bad team his senior year. I guess add that 14-19 team that had Tyler Cook and Luka Garza to the pile of underachiever squads when you look back at it. Even had Isaiah Moss who was good enough to start some games for #1 Kansas going into the cancelled tournament in 2020.

I'd love to see you in your Bulls jersey and hat on backwards at the sports bar watching NBA basketball with all the other nitwits. I bet you even play great video game basketball.

Keep trying loser.

I don’t think they are. Let’s see what it looks like after January. Usually teams that start out hot fade in this league if you’re not the top 1-3.
